Hypothetically : Van Persie?

Ok if the following were to be true, should we bid for Van Persie?

 

- Make the CL

- Arsenal Fail to make CL

- Carol doesnt work out

 

Im begining to really like the player, and the skills and ability he brings to Arsenals attack. They simply are not the same team without him.

 

He would easily fit into our team (no adaption period) due to being in the EPL and he does not seem to be all to happy at Arsenal. I cant help but picture him and Suarez tearing defences apart with the pace, power and precision. He has always been a good striker (one of the best in the league) but injuries have hampered his previous years. I think an offer of 20m at the end of the season should be enough to snag him considering his contract.

 

He has the following:

- Decent Pace

- Great finishing

- Can score with him head

- Can turn and dribble

- Play his back to goal

Very good striker, but he'll be 29 at the start of next season, and in the 6 full seasons he's been at Arsenal, he's only started more than 20 league games once (24 league games a couple years ago), so seems a little injury prone...

he's alright. bit of a fanny merchant and never likely to get any better than he is right now.

Best striker in the league, but I think there are too many things speaking against it:

 

His Injury record + age means that we don't have the luxury of time to make good on the investment. Combine that with the high wages he will command (reckon he'll be the top earner) and high fee and I think it becomes too expensive for the risk and timeframe in which we can enjoy the investment befor he gets too old. Obviously, he'll have little re-sale value 4 years from now.

 

We'd be hard pressed to find a better striker, but I wouldn't swoop for this one.

No way Arsenal are letting him leave in January - any fee they'd get wouldn't be worth it, unless it's a stupid, City sized one. They'd be in serious danger of missing the CL without him.
