Forgive me Bill Shankly

In the past I've said that I would take a defeat if it meant for what I thought would be for the greater good of the club, but I've never been 100% about it. Once the match starts those feelings always went.

However, this time it's different. I can honestly put my hand on my heart and say I really want Bolton to win on Saturday if that imposter is still picking the team.

We aren't going to qualify for the CL, we aren't going to win any other trophy, we are in a relegation battle with the wrong person in charge. And if the only way to get Hodgson out is to get beat then this is what I want as it's becoming more obvious that defeats and crowd unrest are the only weapons to get this baffoon out.

So please forgive me Bill Shankly I feel dirty, but I don't see any other way out.

I'm sure you are 1 of many. I said the same thing in the match thread. Every extra minute this jerk is in charge is another nail in our coffin. If he keeps his job, we can kiss good bye to 2 or 3 players and look forward to life in the desert of mid-bottom half table obscurity.

Waking up today to find him still in a job was a kick in the balls.

Kev, same here I don't think I've ever wanted a Liverpool side to lose a game. The closest to this was way back in 1995 when Blackburn came to Anfield however the situation we are in today is different. Different in a way that a defeat against Bolton will be in the best interests of the club if it meant getting rid of Hodgson. The past three years has seen this football club making some terrible decisions off the pitch....Moores selling to Gillett/Hicks, sacking Rafa who was one of us and appointing Hodgson as manager. Three shocking decisions that has set this club back years after we were so close to being back at the top of the English game.

Jesus f***ing Christ. look, if we lose he gets sacked, i can understand people taking some comfort from the fact that IF we lose it might edge him towards the door, but actually wanting us to lose? no. God knows how some of you would get on supporting a team that is never successful. we are going through something now that every single other club has gone through in the past 25 years. every single one. except us. even when we've been s****, its not been that bad, we havent finished outside the top 8 since the early 1960's, most of our fans cant even remember us being s****. spoilt b******s some of our fans. for a set of supporters that have always prided ourselves in being a cut above, this season has put that myth to bed in some style.

that's your opinion and I respect it, as I do you, as a match going red

so I hope you'll respect my POV too

f*** that. . . We are way to close to the relegation zone.

Gimme 3 points, like I want every league game. Surely, regardless of the result Roy's a goner.

We need to be patient with NESV, if they don't take notice, then instead of hoping we lose, maybe it's time we said good bye to our football club and football altogether.

I often think I should have said good bye on 25th May 2005. But, 30 years with the same bird, you can't just walk away.

I honestly think if we lose to Bolton he will be sacked. First time I've thought that. I've been saying all season he would be here regardless of results until a new CEO was appointed and probably until the end of the season. I think if we win they won't replace him yet.

And, of course, that could massively affect our transfer business in the next couple of weeks.

Lose to Bolton, keep Agger, Lose Hodgson, don't buy C. Cole. Yes please.

Beat Bolton, sell Agger, keep Hodgson, buy C, Cole. No thanks.

I'm with Kev.

And before anyone starts, yes of course I'm guessing.

A lucky win with no style will do me. That will get the CLUB 3 points but still hopefully make him look clueless.

Are you in the flood region Mr LeBroy, or are you OK for now?

You have to wonder what is taking them so long. We need a complete clearout from the Hicks and Gilett era.

Purslow, Ayre, Woy and whoever else is left.

I am halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Safe for now thanks, but some suburbs just 15 minutes away flooded, but definitely not as bad as out west and up north.

I wish we could have sent all this f***in rain to Melbourne for the 3rd Test.

I do but I kinda agree with Wayne and I kind of don't. I want us to win but I don't agree we're acting spoiled, it's not about us having to contend with a manager that disrespects everything this club means to us every day he's in the job. That said I doubt that his reign depends upon a single result and I'm not sure it should losing to Bolton won't make him unfit to continue in the same way that a win makes him the right manager and I don't expect FSG to make their decision based upon a result on Saturday.

Two home defeats on the bounce and the manner of both defeats, plus making 5 defeats out of the last 7games with no light at the end of the tunnel.

A defeat and the reaction during/afterwards could sway it once and for all.

There are various pressures on them right now that haven't been there before. They now know Hodgson won't be here long term - they possibly didn't know that before the press turned on him. There's a momentum starting amongst the fans that is both uncharacteristic and starting to get ugly. They will realize for the first time it will cost more money to keep him for the rest of the season that it would to replace him now, short term. Plus we are in the middle of the transfer window.

Bolton isn't just one result, it's the fulcrum of their first season.

I just hope they don't in any way see Sammy Lee as a temp manager. That could go bad fast.

That's not the way to go about it though is it? It should be a decision based on the season so far not the reaction after another bad result. No point fighting for new owners if the fans are going to force their hand at every opportunity.

Could be the final straw though ?

Yeah, but I just don't want it to be a kneejerk decision based on mutiny in the stands. They're smart people and will be on top of things but might be sorting through other factors, like a good replacement.

5 defeats in seven games and the style of play in those games is not knee-jerking.

What is knee-jerking anyway, it's alien to me.
