Everton FC star Jose Baxter quizzed on drug charges

AN EVERTON FC player was arrested on suspicion of drugs and counterfeit cash possession.

 

Rising Blues star Jose Baxter, 17, from Bootle, was arrested yesterday with two other men, aged 29 and 34, in a car in Kirkby.

 

A Merseyside Police spokesman said the three men were arrested on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and counterfeit money.

 

Baxter was released on police bail pending further inquiries.

 

An Everton FC spokesman declined to comment.

 

But the player’s mum Mary Jane today insisted her son had done nothing wrong.

 

The centre forward is the youngest player ever to start for Everton playing against West Brom aged just 16 years and 198 days.
