I know he's the captain and all, and its Stevie, but he doesn't need to take the corners. His delivery is inconsistent at best and he can do so much damage for us either in the box or lurking outside - as we saw against Bolton.

 

It just gives the opposition another problem to think about.

Do think Gerrard would score a few from corners if he wasn't taking them. We don't have much of an aerial threat from corners anymore, and he'd have the knack of being in the right place to get on the end of a few crosses.

Good. I thought it was just me that thought he shouldn't take our corners. Listening to the match the other day against Notlob, they were querying why more and more of our corners were being taken short. I shouted at the radio that it was cos Gerrard's corners are sh*te.

I've never really understoof why he takes so many corners to be honest. I'd prefer him positionally in a similar way to that Schole's used to adopt around the edge of the box so he can bang in goals like that third one he had against Bolton at the weekend. It just seems we waste a really valuable attacking option having him take them.

He shouldn't take another one in his career - and if he stays in the middle while someone who can take a decent corner does so - I think he'll be adding 5-10 goals to his total every season.

It doesn't seem ludicrous that he gets into the team. Because he's a very good player.

 

It does seem ludicrous that he takes corners because he's f***ing s**** at them. If you think he's good at taking corners, you're in a minority of one and you need your head testing.
