INSUA HEADS OFF ON INTERNATIONAL DUTY

Steve Hunter 05 January 2009

Liverpool will be without the services of Emiliano Insua for the next month due to his participation in the Under-20 South American Championships with Argentina in Venezuela.

The left back, who has started the last four matches in the first team, will be away until February 8 meaning he won't be available for this weekend's game with Stoke, the double header with Everton or the Anfield clash with Chelsea.

Joining Insua in the tournament will be reserve defender Ronald Huth who will be representing Paraguay.

The tournament runs from January 19 until February 8, and is staged every two years.

Argentina have won it four times, the last being in 2003.

Can he last a month without getting injured. Carra get your left foot ready!

He's usually alright for a month or so. He generally plays himself back into form before getting injured

We have a £7m Italian international left back as well, or have people forgotten about him!

Arbeloa can also play there

who would play on the right then ? Darby ?

That means Dossena is unlikely to go back to italy this month

I wasn't convinced Dossena would be leaving this jan until the pound plummeted v the euro. I thought he'd be here at least 'till the summer to see if he could acclimatise.

Now I can't see us turning down offers equivalent or close to the money we paid. Not now Insua has proved he can hold his own and especially if we're in for a new right back, which would free Arby to cover LB, and Carra at a push.
