The FA has confirmed that Terry was sent off for serious foul play rather than for a professional foul. Any complaints that Terry was not the last defender are unlikely to be relevant.

Shame really as I'd've preferred Terry to have played against the mancs.

As cynical a challenge as you're ever likely to see and he thought he'd get away with it.

Away and f*ck- if you're going to go for the snide deliberate foul, learn how to do it with panache a la Mascherano (that sounds like a desert).

:nono: Craig Burley commentating on the Spurs match on Setanta has declared that it should have got him a yellow card.

is that ex-chelsea player craig burley?

isn't the league powerless to downgrade a red card to a yellow card?

good. it's the expectation that he'll get it changed that annoys me, as if where terry was on the pitch and carvalho covering excuses the fact that it was a clumsy, cynical, sh*thouse foul. he should have had more faith in his teammate carvalho to get him out of jail as usual.

If the FA had some balls, they would turn his appeal down, and increase his ban for failing to leave the pitch after the ref's decision. would send a message about their "Respect" campaign.

But as it's good old JT the Racist, he'll be successful with his appeal

Am I alone in thinking that he is the most loathsome c*** in the game?

I cant f***ing stand him

probably can't slip a rizla between him, ferdinand, rooney and cahill. though JT's nickname and racism might give him the edge.

I dont think there is more c***ish name than "JT"

that coupled with "Lamps" and I think we are close to why there are people in Switzerland not bothered with what might happen with their experiment

there's no such thing as professional foul though, is there?

Tommy Smith was paid to foul people so I guess there is. ;)

it was never a red

I think vidic was more of a red as Keane would have been clear on goal

Still full credit for the ref to have the balls to red card the england captain, must have a death wish

Vidic was a red all day long, Keane was just outside the edge of the area = clear goal scoring opportunity - the fact he would probably have fecked it up, as he did at Villa, allowing Ferdinand to get back is neither here nor there. Jo was brought down near halfway with another defender covering. Never a clear goalscoring opportunity. The fact it was a cynical foul doesn't make it a red.

If a goalie slides out at the feet of a centre forward and the forward just nicks it and is brought down - red card

Terry's and Vidic's - Yellows.

By the rules you would be right, but the punishments relative to the crimes aren't right
