If this was Voronin's first pre-season we'd be creaming ourselves over a great bit of business by Rafa. However it's not, but I don't think we've seen the best of him at all. i reckon it's taken a lot more time than anticipated for him and his family to settle. I don't know if he's grasped the lingo yet as I've not actually seen an interview with him in English (cue loads of posts now to a link).

I'm becoming more sympathetic with him, I reckon if he's not sold this window then give him a break and a clean slate.

and with that, you can bet your house he'll be gone by cob tomorrow ;)

He look okay last pre-season and perhaps with a couple of glimpses of potential in his first couple of games. I'll hold my head up above the trench and admit I thought he could have been a bargain & a frequent provider of inch-perfect slide-rule passes through to Torres (who I thought would be a bit crap in a Kuyt-stylee).

I don't like bringing in players for a season and then dumping them - even if they've done nothing for 12 months. But even if he was showing a lot of workrate and had lost a stone then I'd still say "get rid". It's pointless having 4 experienced strikers; he's only going to get games if Torres, Keane and Kuyt are all out and for that number of games we may as well give a little experience to the likes of Nemeth or Pacheco. If they're not good enough to sit on the bench and play a few minutes once a month they may as well get sold now.

If that happens I can see me getting requests ;)

Happy for him to stay, not bothered if he leaves (as long as he's replaced).

He's never been anywhere near as bad as he was made out to be on here.

He's a decent player, but I reckon the likely signing of Ngog will lead to his departure.

yay! From the pony tailed one to the mighty Ngog :D

Really, I'd be happy if Voro stays for this season, as a squad player, I'd rather him than some young French dude with 1 goal to his credit last season*

*He might be really good, but I'm just very suspicious of signings from the French league :hmm:

Get a half decent price for him I'd sell.

he had a great pre-season last year remember this goal? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EZ6XkFN3jEc , and I seem to remember a lot of people on here saying it could have been the best business of the summer.

I am not fussed if he stays or goes, hes not Liverpool quality, but is a handy option for the cup games at least.

The praise he got in the first 5 or 6 games was way over the top, as was the stick he took in the second half of the season. He's a decent squad player who can do a job from time to time, he was never going to be anything else. If a club comes with an offer of a few million he'll go, if not he'll stay and have a similar sort of season to last year.

I'd much rather see Pacheco used than Voronin

me too, at least with Pacheco or Nemeth getting games it will be building up their experience, with Voronin its too late for that, his level has been reached, its just not Liverpool level.

Agree.

That's a proper summerisation of the whole scapegoat and hero to zero thing that is Voronin's first season with us.

We should give every one of our players a clean sheet for each new season.

Especially Kuyt who seems to get ridiculous stick from Liverpool 'fans'

If we got 2m for him this summer I'd be delighted. Much prefer one of the up and coming kids to be "4th choice"

Lets see what they're made of.

I agree with using one of the kids rather than Voronin. There were a few examples last season of the Vog either not having the pace or the hunger to get on the end of a cross for a simple tap-in.

Youth brings both pace and hunger. I don't see how either Nemeth or Pacheco could be worse options. F*ck it, Brouwer would probably be a better option.

With Keane on his way to add to Torres, Kuyt and Babel, and bearing in mind we've got seven subs now, I think Voronin will just be a bar to young strikers coming through who should be fighting for that place on the bench

Voronin is as bad as he's been made out on here, he's f***ing pitiful! Not just slow, fat and lethargic but almost totally uninterested!

He's had a half decent preseason big whoopy deal!

Sell him, give him away, shoot him - he should have never come near a club like Liverpool and if he stays every game he gets on the bench is to the detriment of Nemeth and Pacheo.

He really and truthfully is cr@p.

Seems odd that we're signing Ngog for the first team. That indicates to me that there will be another striker departing this summer, preferably the Vog.

Voronin's terrible. If the likes of Nemeth are not worth a go in his place, then they might as well go straight to Crewe or Preston right now.
