Maybe this doesnt need its own thread but I am posting anyway, the powers that be can decide or RP.

Basically Fabregas was interviewed by Spanish reporters after the game in his native tongue and he told the reporter that all the players were physically drained at the end of the 90 mins - hopefully its a good sign for next week.

I thought they visibly tired during the last 10 or so minutes. Am hoping our early season rotation can give us the edge.

they looked tired near the end

amazing how flat they were after we scored

they were really pushing for a second goal. it almost cost them the game last night. if we had got a 1-1 away against a non-english side at this stage of competition we would be delighted. not sure if arsenal will be as affected by anfield as a non-english team but we have a great chance to get through after last night

As all their (starting 11) players are non-English, hopefully they will be affected.

I said that to a mate after the Porto game when I thought we would be contesting the league that basically Arsenal had a very small squad and literally played the same 11 week after week and that maybe it would tell come March April, as it happens, it told in February.

If Voronin wasn't so crap we could have cleaned up in the last five, I really don't think Kuyt realised how f***ed their players were either.

Really thought we were going to get a second in the last 5 last night. If someone had just put their foot through it instead of playing nice little passes around the box.

They need to win on Saturday too if they want to stay in with a chance of the league. Van Persie looks to be out as well so that's a plus!

Thought this as well. Was bizarre seeing the team that had been chasing the ball for most of the game have more energy at the end of the match than the team who'd had most of the possession. Great argument for rotation, eh? Really think we should play mostly bench players on Saturday. Arsenal's squad isn't deep enough to do the same, plus they have the league to focus on still. Leaves them with a choice of playing kids on Saturday, or having a knackered team versus our fresh lot on Tuesday.

We need to quietly leak to the paper that Rafa will be playing a strong squad because we can't afford to lose ground on Everton. Say that he thinks the rotation will give us enough legs for all three games.

Then play the ressies.

Wenger said Van Persie's injury isn't too bad I think.

He said on our telly that he thinks he will miss Saturday and that he is a doubt for the 2nd leg. He did look quite concerned about him when Shreeve asked the question.

wenger always looks concerned. if you look closely at the wrinkles in his forehead you can make out the letters

and he is French as well!!

Wenger revealed forward Robin van Persie is a doubt for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off, having been replaced by Theo Walcott at half-time because of a thigh problem.

"We had to take him out as a precaution," said the Arsenal manager.

"It doesn't look too bad, but we think he may be short for the next game.

"We will see how it goes. I don't think it's a recurrence but it was where he was injured before, on his thigh, where he had the problem."

Their lack of rotation earlier in the season is costing them now.

:nono:

Only Liverpool FC 'rotate', other teams 'rest players'

Know your Sky Anti-Liverpool Agenda, sonny.

Their efforts to come back against Bolton won't have helped them.

And our rotation policy will pay dividends.

They did have 24 hours more rest the liverpool players

with this in mind we should aim to make arsenal do as much running as possible on saturday in order to make them that bit more tired when they make the trip back to anfield.

If i were rafa, I'd consider not starting gerrard or torres. Might be a big mistake that could prove to be our undoing for the race for 4th place but since we're a few point above everton now, I think it might be worth the risk as we'll need our lads to be in excellent shape if we want to know arsenal out of the CL.

I think Arsenal will be more effected by the Anfield crowd than most of the other top teams in Europe. I'm not sure they have the bottle to be honest. I'm hoping they will get lost in the atmosphere as it took them an aweful long time to get back into the game once we scored lastnight. Imagine what they might feel like if we can get an early goal at anfield? the crowd would crush them.
