Liverpool FC - What's in a name?

Once the Premier League have whored itself across the world - we all know that the powers that be (The Media) won't allow the teams to have something as boring as 'Liverpool Football Club' or 'Manchester City'. They'll want some 'Glamour' Name for each team so they can be more easily recognised.

 

For instance I usually get to take the piss out of Americans when they say "Oh! You're from England? Gee! Well! I support Manchester!"

 

When I say "Manchester City or Manchester United..?" they look at me blankly.

 

Not a good move for marketing.

 

So, given that we know it's guaranteed that Liverpool would have to change its name to be more easily recognised - what do you think the name will be that they will use?

 

Feel free to add other teams names as well if you can be arsed

Dunno what other people think, but this extra game abroad thing really sickens me. League was always a pure thing, play all the other teams, once home, once away.

 

 

Now, you'll have a random element, you might draw an easy game or a hard one. Imagine Derby drawing Arsenal, while the other teams in the drop zone get easy draws. And that being the difference at the end of the season. It's b****x, all of it. Sacrificing the integrity of the league for a few shirts.

it's not just the playing abroad element that's annoyed me, it's the turning of a time-honoured system, the home and away league, into a f***ing lottery. that's the whole point about a league, it's about as level a playing field as you can get over a season.

One query I have. Has anyone said it will be designated as a 'home' tie or 'away' tie? Or just a neutral game on the fixture list? Either way, it is the height of absolute stupidity to hold it in January. Maybe they think it will snow then some time.....
