2) Still only conceded 2 pens

3) Still got a game in hand

4) We are Liverpool

5) I don't need a 5 cos the other 4 were so great.

9. It's not like we were s*** against Birmingham, it was just a matter of their 11 players behind the ball.

And us unable to break down teams that put 10 men behind the ball (as 90% of the teams will do when they come to Anfield) has to mean we played s***?

14 home wins out of 19 last season - all of them without Torres - suggests this is more likely to be the exception than the rule. As was commonly discussed before the latest debacle, our real problem is how to pick up more away points. We were only 1 point behind Man U and 3 points better than Chelsea last season in home form.

Indeed and we have 7 our of 9 on the road so far, which obviously pisses on last season.

Not sure how that's a positive, exactly.

Its like that old saying "they are picking up points but they still haven't hit top gear yet", except we are dropping points and our best player hasn't hit top gear yet... Ahhhhh, see what you mean.

How many were without Alonso?

Nah, we were s****. They had 11 players behind the ball, yes but most of our players were baffled by it. The lack of movement from our attacking players was frightening it was as if they were thinking if they stood still for a bit Brum might forget about them and we could score as many as we liked. It was only Pennant that actually ran, I think Gerrard, Kuyt, Voronin and Babel were put off by the stadium announcer asking people not to stand.

And on that point, is it now club policy to threaten fans? It was f***ing daft, not the fault of the stewards like I understand but "Sit down or we'll throw you out" "If you get caught smoking we'll take yer season ticket or fancard off you" (Bit of a difference there by the way, your £3 fancard or your five hundred nicker seasie) It was like being in school "Somebody's been smoking in the toilets" I was expecting "Whoever it was smoking in the toilets at break, own up otherwise everybody will have to stay behind and watch Riise practice shooting with his right foot" It was beyond a joke.

But anyway enough moaning, I agree with the original post, it's not been a bad start and it'd look a hell of a lot better if we'd beaten Chelsea.

We are still unbeaten, despite our best player nowhere near the top of his game.

We can only get better.

i agree. riise has really f***ing let me down this season.

Started very well, not been on it since the injury and all that fuss.

He played half decent against villa and chelsea, but apart from a few moments of brilliance, I didn't think he was that good. It could be that I expect more now that he has finally been given the role he wants, but not having the pace of Torres up front means he is restricted in the balls he can play.

he was great aganst chelsea, and had a very good game against villa

if we are to win the title this year we need him to play to the top of his game
