At present Man City are the best team in the league ;)

Posted

But If you believe Richard Keys, Man City are the best.

Our next 5 games are

Sunderland

Derby

Portsmouth

Birmingham

Wigan

If we don't win all them, i'll be pissed off.

You know, I really do think we are the best team in the league. I don't fear Chelsea in the slightest. Arsenal aren't close to being as good in the past, and Man Utd had loads of players on a swansong last year. I thought those new signings would really help them out but now I'm not so sure.

Citeh? Don't make me laugh.

Despite todays gang rape, I feel really great about us. Babel will be a star. Torres will be a star. Xabi will shake off the cobwebs. Our back four is the best there is. The Captain is the best there is. Marscher is a force.

I'm angry but confident about us.

I have a feeling that Babel will flatter to deceive this season

He's score a few belters with that right foot of his though

Great opportunity to pick up some points.

Rafa should spend the next week geeing the boys up before unleashing us against Sunderland.

Best thing we can do is go up there, give them a hiding, and get todays debacle out of our systems

Absolutely. Especially if Sunderland's defending against Wigan is anything to go by, Torres and Kuyt are going to eat them up.

Wish we could have had that ref. The Sunderland defence could have used AK47's on the Wigan players and not conceded a peno in that first half

That was insane. How Wigan only got 2 penalties in that game is beyond me.

I think your getting ahead of yourself. There's still question marks about the strikers and particularly who plays on the flanks. Pennant and riise clearly arent good enough, babel has potential but is still very raw and I cant see him making a big impact this season, kewell is finshed and benayoun isnt a natural wide man. We dont have one player in the squad who can deliver a cross accurately on a consistent basis from the dead ball or open play.

And I think you're too far the other way. Pennant had another good game today. He was getting stuck in, winning the ball back for us but also making a lot of good moves in the final third.

We can't really say for certain how Babel will do but what we have seen is encouraging. His appearance today would have been very different if we had still been in front and it's clear he worries defenders.

I'm not sure how you know that Kewell is finished.

I'm not sure how you can say that Benayoun isn't what we need - in which games?

I'm also not sure how you can decide that not one player can deliver a cross accurately. Pennant has done it today. I think Riise put in some decent ball. Babel put in a killer of a cross. We all know Gerrard can cross and we know that Kewell can cross too.

Finnan can cross as well, and if we're playing Riise at left wing, if Aurelio comes in at left back he can cross as well.

I think the problem we have occasionally is that we don't have bodies in the box to attack the cross, something that Man U/Chelsea and even Everton do better than us.
