it was like watching cricket

easy, i watched the south africa vs new zealand game earlier while making up some carp fishing rigs, i can tell you here and know, tying miniscule wakward as f*** knots while watching cricket was ALOT MORE EXCITING THAN OUR MATCH EARLIER!!!!

i thankfully wasnt at Villa away, but its the worst game i've seen in ages. watched Prescot Cables draw 0-0 on Easter Monday in the freezing cold at Valerie park, and it was a better game than that one today. i'm hard pressed to think of a game with so few incidents. i dont even think there was a bad tackle.

Cept when Barton came unbelieveably close to breaking Gerrard's leg

How are we capable of this?

We can beat the best there is, yet when it comes to domestic football, we can be the greatest of anaesthetists.

I think it's to do with having to fill the team with human beings

A rubbish, lack lustre game (my first away). I was also very surprised to see TWO of our players (Agger and Finnan) suffer from cramp

Never does Wayne's weekly post grab your attention as much as today.

"Just back from the match". It's a ynwa tradition. Week in, week out he does his little summary. We take it for granted. Most will read it religiously as he gives a brief snippet or two about the day, the match and the lifestyle so many of us follow.

Yet 18 years ago things were so different. How can so many go to the match and not come back? :(:(

Wont get anywhere near winning the league playing Kuyt on his own up front away at places like Man City

Two reasons

Firstly kuyt has never had a good game on his own up front because he hasnt got the game to do it, one of our worst displays away from home at Old Trafford we played the same.

Secondly, its far to negative at a weak team.

There was no way near enough pace and movement in our midfield and attack and its not just an end of season thing, this has been happening on numerous occasions away from home this season.

We need pace and genuine quality in both wide positions and up front, especially if you play to central midfielders who do not really get forward.

Two wingers are needed desperately next season one, maybe two mobile, quick, strikers

Huge overstatement in that last paragraph.

We badly need pace in the attacking third!
