Henry/Eto'o swapping places

Recommended Posts

Pure hypothesis this but can anyone see Henry going to Barca and Eto'o going the other way as a very logical move for the two clubs

Henry was on the verge of going there last year and he's not right in himself there this season. Eto'o is surely on his way from Barca unless they ditch Rijkaard.

Todays Mirror mentions that Wenger is interested and I'm sure Barca would like Henry.

Could see it happening.

Written by the demented midget that is Lipton. So he values Henry at £12m, so Eto'o must be worth less than.

THIERRY AND ARSENAL COULD BE UP FOR SALE

IT'S ALL CHANGE AT THE EMIRATES HENRY £12M TAG

By Martin Lipton Chief Football Writer 06/04/2007

THIERRY HENRY'S Arsenal future was in doubt again last night as three European giants insisted the Gunners are ready to let him go.

Less than a year after Henry signed the contract he expected to tie him to the north London club for the rest of his career, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all working on the assumption that Arsenal are prepared to sacrifice their skipper this summer.

And while Henry has no wish to end his stay at the Emirates Stadium, the final decision may be down to Arsene Wenger if a suitable offer is received.

Barca, Real and Inter are all circling, under the belief that the Arsenal board is willing to listen to bids in the region of £12million for the player, who turns 30 in August.

That would give boss Wenger much-needed cash to help fund an overhaul of the squad that is already 23 points adrift of Manchester United - having finished 24 points off Chelsea's pace last term.

Inter have already made an unofficial approach to test the water and Arsenal's response has not put them off coming back for real in the summer.

And sources at both Barcelona - who may be willing to include Samuel Eto'o in a player-plus-cash exchange - and Real are briefing that they have been told Henry is no longer "untransferable" in the eyes of the Arsenal board amid claims that he is at times a "disruptive influence".

That criticism, if genuine, seems unfair on a player who has always given everything for the Arsenal cause

Yes I can, but on alleged current Eto'o/Barca relations he would probably say " You want me to go to Arsenal, then i want to go liverpool" :D

Then again, Henry has also said he loves Anfield and is having difficulties amongst the Arsenal hierarchy, so, cat umongst pigeons etc, what if we ended up with Henry AND Eto'o? Would that be a double :D:D ?

Unfortunately, I think footballers who are officiendo's (Love the game and its history etc) would come to us, but, many modern footballers from Europe would probably want to go to f***ing London where they can spend their over extortionate wages on extortionate prices. :(

yes I have been drinkiong.

Etoo and Henry would be some combination.

The best two centre forwards in the world when on form?

Only problem is they both favour drifting out to the left.

So I couldn't be arsed. :P

henry's best days are clearly behind him.

don't agree. he's had a bad season...

i thought the same (as did a lot of mancs) about giggs a few years back. in fact, he had a couple of poor seasons in a row.

Giggs has reinvented himself as a ball player, not sure Henry could do that. He's skillful, but he's always relied on his pace and if the sciatica rumours are true, it's hard to see how he'll ever be able to open up like he used to to walk past defenders.

true.

You could also say the same about Wenger in the PL. I can see Arsenal without the Frenchman next year.

I think he's had his day.

If they don't get the 3rd or 4th spot this year I think he'll go before he's pushed. They managed last year on the last day and it will be tight for them this season.

Madrid dropped him last summer and copped Schuster.

Like many, many players who are heavily involved in a major European tournament Henry's form and fitness have suffered. But writing him off is almost as insane as selling him for £12m.

I think he'll be back to his brilliant best next season after a break in the summer.
