Of course its nothing to do with the fact that we've poached players from his sh*tty no-mark club in recent history. Steve bears no grudge, oh no.

 

He's quite right - the most famous England victory in the modern era didn't involve all 5 goals being scored by Liverpool players, and we haven't supplied as many top players as any club to the national team down the years, that would be totally incorrect to say.

 

And I'm sure him not naming Chelsea is spot-on, I mean they really are set up to help the English game far more than us aren't they?

I was thinking along the same lines. But then I thought maybe it's a double bluff - he wants to make sure Second Choice Steve stays England Manager so that when he sacks Southgate, Mclaren doesn't come knocking again.
