Not dangerous at all.

Hope it is true that he has to wear one though - those things take some getting used to, can certainly affect your ability to hear what is going on and can generally be very distracting if you're not used to wearing one in match conditions.

Hope we get right into him.

The ref will blow any time a player is within 2 feet of him. And you can be sure Jose's going to be moaning at the 4th official throughout the 90 minutes (or 98 minutes of Chelsea are a goal behind).

Quite right on both accounts, so bang em in from the edge of the box, or on sight, keep him busy get him knackerd - it will be tiring for him with a helmet on, what with the weight of it and over adjustment to compensate for vision.

Sacrifice a player - get him to take Cech out early on. If we have to play with 10, it doesn't matter as long as Hilario ends up in goal. :D

Shame we sold Diao.*

What is the legality of him wearing a type of crash helmet? Surely it is dangerous if he is challenging with a forward for the ball.

Looks liek a padded foam type thing, I'd imagine it's much softer to get hit with than his head.

There is no way on earth this will work to our advantage (speaking cyncially).

The Paranoid One will demand that this defenders protect his keeper, their team mate from bloody savages from the North. The ref will protect him and he is likely to have a great game.

Actually, I'm not gonna get outta bed for this one :(

I doubt it. If it's the same one he wore in training, it looks like a scrum cap that they wear in rugby. It doesn't seem to tire any of the rugby players out when they are running about for eighty minutes. I doubt if it will tire Cech out when he is standing in goals.

Of course it won't tire him - it can be quite disorientating and distracting wearing one though.

I had visions of the old school leather one they used to wear, mind you, don't forget Rugby players have a neck like a tree trunk where as check don't. ;)

The important goalkeeping fact for Saturday is that John Terry won't be there to henchoz the ball away with his dirty gypsy paws every time it comes into the box.

There's no way I have ruled that one out. Last week Mourinho said "He will miss the game this Saturday, he is not even training with the first team"

Ferguson consistently told the press before Liverpool games that Schmeichel, Giggs, Keane etc would miss our games and then they would stride onto the pitch. The mere fact Mourinho only ruled him definitely out of the Wigan game left me in some doubt

Early crosses from Finnan, Pennant and Aurelio with Kuyt attacking should unsettle him. I'd love to see Gerrard bursting forward in the opening 10-15 mins trying to get on the end of them too.

I read somewhere today that Terry is in holland getting treatment to try and get him fit for Saturday.

The scrum cap is very light, and he's been wearing it already for 2 months to get used to it.

It also has a special metal plate in it to protect the injured part of his skull, which will not fuse together for another 2/3 years.

He might not be now, but once the game starts he'll be quite nervous I'm sure.

Muscle relaxent = spliff, a stoned Terry would be nice. :D

Mourinho can give him advice - he has a helmet on his head permanently.

Seriously though, it'd be a massive risk to throw Cech in against us. I'd be surprised if it happened, but it could potentially work either way if it does.

if he's playing in the centre that will be impossible :(
