Warnock has brief moment of endearment

Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock might not be everyone's favourite opposition manager but the outspoken Blades boss has spoken with pride about the time he became a passionate Liverpool supporter for one night only.

While Liverpool were reeling from a nightmare first-half against AC Milan in Turkey, Warnock - who grew up supporting the club he now manages - was watching the final on TV while on holiday in Greece.

"They say you always remember where you were when Kennedy was shot," claims Warnock, who insists he has a nice bottle of red wine waiting for Rafael Benitez in his office at Bramall Lane. "Well, I remember where I was when Liverpool were 3-0 down to AC Milan in the Champions League Final. I was on holiday in Greece in a place full of Italians.

"I remember thinking whether I should go to bed because the Italians were taking the p*** out of me. But I thought I would stop and I was the only Englishman to last into the second-half!

"Then the first goal from 25 yards. Did I cheer? I bloody did. I ran round the room. By the third one, even the Italians were giving me high-fives. It was a brilliant night."

Same game as John Toshack where we scored three goals in 18 minutes

I put it down to the condition known as "manager blindness"

Nice article like.

And that will be the last time I'll say that about something Neil Warnock says this season. :P

Why did that d****ead have to go and say something like that to make me dislike him less on today of all days!?!?! :D

*Imagines Henchoz spitting at him*

That's better!

Michael Howard, given the opportunity, will wax lyrical about that night in Istanbul....

and he's still a massive cn*t.

don't be fooled.

He didn't like us, he liked the fact that we gave him the opportunity to take the pi$$ out of the Italians after they'd been taking the pi$$ out of him.

a lost of my dislike for him has magically vanished

:)

temporarily only, I hope.

He's a c**t, and his team are going down if today's tactics are anything to go by. He'll get more red cards than points if they keep that up.

I don't know why he is despised to be honest.

I lot of his "ranting" seems justified when I have watched his games. I thought he had reason to kick off again today, but he took the penalty like a man.

Fair play to him.

I like the man and always have. :)

remember the league cup a fwe years ago?

He's a total c***

Well I like him.

Always have.

He is a football man. Manager at the club he supports...passionate about his team.

Imagine Carragher as Liverpool manager...there you go.

He rants and raves but usually he has a point. He did again today but kept himself calm.

I like Warnock.
