He's 19 and will recover quickly. I think the Villa thing was with particular reference to being over trained by Roy for 10 days. Back in his normal routine with us and he's fine. Take England out of the equation, and I'm sure he'd have been rested for this, rather than Villa.

Reasonable assessment there I think. I actually thought Lovren/Sakho as a partnership got better game by game, especially if you are able to look past the errors, which were down more to communication and bedding in than anything else. I do think Skrtel again caused panic with his poor positioning, and complete lack of authority, but others seem to like his scrambling blocks.

Think he's saying if he'd been in London he'd have been too busy with other stuff, to have the necessary conversations, and do the necessary negotiations, to get the deal done? Like the old, get more work done out of the office scenario, because you're not being mithered form every angle.

Why baffled ? They decided he needed to rest today, after being run into the ground by Hodgson, by Tuesday he's had more rest. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't play 90 Tuesday, but BR can't just reschedule the games into a different order.

Where's the pressure coming from ? In the context of last season, and the fact we are 4 games in, I don't see why he's under pressure, at least no more than usual ?

Exactly, he held out aslong as possible, then went to Newcastle when he felt he had no other choice, not being prepared to sit on Real's bench in a WC year. He can't really complain that we weren't prepared to pay twice what we sold him for.

Perfectly valid that isn't it. In hindsight, when the league's gone ? A positive minded person is going to give more weight to having made us dream, than any incident that cost us the title. it's something to build the next season on.

Totally agree, and given the Internationals will never be scrapped, they need putting into more defined windows I think. It's good they've scrapped the August fixture, but this early September one is no good either. Just add a week to Summer in odd number years, or November in even/all, and bring CL forward one week.

Aye, with some exceptions, the boxes are generally full of business associates of the box holder. With regards to the Dunkin Donuts example, I think that's a bit of a red herring, more believable that's an FFP related deal, given where they are based.

More believable that it was a comment from hindsight. I don't think he shrugged his shoulders and stopped believing after that red card. Especially as we were on such a high after beating City and putting it in our own hands.

He's said Madrid gave him no choice, it was Newcastle or no move, despite him being desperate to come to us, and us wanting him. He'd made his bed by then obviously like, with regards to leaving us on the cheap, but still, it was poor decision making by him more than anything.

Nibbling in PL terms, if the £30K rumour is accurate. As perverse as it sounds, that's no real waste sat in the stands. I can't help feeling he's the loser in this, rather than us, but good luck to the lad if that's what he wants.
