  1. Pleat really is, apparently working for Al Jazeera at the moment ? I thought for a moment you meant Mcenroe had been commentating on the football />, actually he'd probably have been better than what we've had.
  2. Aye that's fair. It must be a difficult job being a co-commentator on live action I think, there seem to be a few who are much, much better as analysts than commentators. Neville and Murphy just two in my opinion. Bring back David Pleat, not withstanding the fact he'd get less than 20% of the players names right.
  3. 1. 'Sealed Bids' . 2. 'Enter Bids' . 3.Delete a player you are happy to sell, select a replacement and enter a bid in the same way you did during the draft. You need to do one at a time, ie you can't delete 2 and then pick 2 replacements. 4. Submit bids. You can only use your current budget to bid with, anything from potential sales will be available next round.
  4. You're not going mad Molby, I spotted it shortly into the 2nd trench of matches too. Seemed like the points had been doubled, when that is only supposed to happen from the round of 16 onwards. Perhaps it happened again at the start of this 3rd round of matches, and has been corrected by the organisers as it was a few hours after the last time it happened.
  5. Colgate?
  6. It's the sheer scale of all the moral high horse s*** that really makes me laugh. The reaction from the media, and the wider public, is completely disproportionate to other things that happen in football, never mind everyday life. Get him some help, slap him with a few games International ban, and move the f*** on to something more important.

  9. LIkely because the journo threw the Euro figure into a calculator along with the tourist rate from whatever rag he writes for, and got that. Or, because writing a random figure makes people think that he's done that from some European source, and therefore adds weight to it. It's the speculation game, who knows what to believe.
  10. I like the way he did for his goal, exactly what Henry said Lukaku should have done for his first half chance.
  11. ha ha, nice.
  12. I maintain he talks too much, makes some decent points and trys hard to add something more than the likes of townsend, but is either trying too hard (I think this is most likely), or is genuinely one of those blokes down the pub you just wish would shut up.
  13. Aye, they seem to think they are skilled and knowledgeable football men, when infact their skills and training are just for the writing ability. The content is just opinion, no more or less informed than the rest of us.
  14. Pretty sure I saw his name mentioned in a synopsis of Danny Baker's show on BTSport, (shot in a UK studio I think , judging by the title which I've forgotten). I didn't go anywhere near the show itself, for obvious reasons, so can't confirm this.

    90. The points are for contributing to the other team not scoring across the entire game, so the current 75 isn't entirely unreasonable to me, certainly don't think it should be less. For defenders, I think losing points for every goal scored is harsh, particularly as their is a reward for clean sheets, therefore no middle ground. I would have points deducted from 3 goals and up only, but possibly at the same level as clean sheet bonus. eg 2 points for a clean sheet, -2 points for conceding 3 goals or more. I think it would be tougher, and perhaps more fun, if you could only make changes to your starting XI for each round of games, just as in a Premier League version where you'd set an XI for the entire game week. Agree with this, with the possible added proviso of an ability to drop an officially classified injured player, and pick up a free transfer in his place. (Premier League I'm talking here obviously, would just be tough s*** in a tournament I think).
  16. cheers :)/>
  17. My fault mate, sorry about that. Thought I'd sold Cahill for some reason, have benched Alves now.
  18. Sorted mate, should clear now. Welcome Arjen x2
  19. With you on this. If I was drafting again I'd pick up 5 squad filler defenders/keeper for £0, in the hope they don't play and therefore don't cost me any points. Then spend the full budget on 10 midfielders/forwards. Trying to be smart picking defensive players of sides with renowned defences, or players with an eye for the occasional goal/assist, is much more difficult in an International tournament, compared with a Premier League season.
  20. I thought he was poor, 50 words when 10 would do, and he covered just about every base imagineable. I thought I was listening to a young Roy in all honesty

  22. Cheers for that, all looks OK.
  23. Sounds like Cunny has tried this so can probably confirm, but looks like you have to select the player you are willing to sell if successful with your bid for a free agent. If your bid fails you keep the original player, if the bid is good, the original player is sold ?
  24. Need to go to sealed bids section rather than transfers I think.
  25. Yes, cheers DPD. With regards to this sealed bids for free agents thing, do you need to sell in advance to free up space do you know, or would we be prompted to sell if successful in bidding?
