  1. In the other league, RP mentioned something about transfer fee's being half of the original purchase fee, so maybe something needs setting up in the league's rules, or maybe when you submit the transfer it adjusts to the correct level ? Either way, thanks for the heads up, £3.2 billion for Joe Hart is more than I'd hoped to get /> . edit - infact DPD mentions the half of original fee too. Maybe someone will have to try it out and see ?
  2. All round 2 bids done now for the last remaining league.

Absolutely, having the auction over 24-48 hours max has worked well, no time to overthink it, and keeps the interest up. Interest that will probably wane by next Tuesday :lol:/> I'd be up for the Premier League one too.
  4. Yes, I finally figured that for this one, even if you have 5 or 6 top forwards, they can all count for every game.
  5. If there's no goal's in that lot, I give up.
  6. Yes, as soon as each round of bids is cleared you can load the next round.
  7. So they no longer have to make their squads up with some local filler players that wont make the team anyway. Getting tough here UEFA :rolleyes:/> The other teams should be appealing this, it's the equivalent to having 6 in a squad of 25.
  8. I'll go in league 2 if you're still short mate.
  9. I'm in the first one too, but if you need numbers to fill I'm up for it, mickange -- at -- virginmedia -- com
  10. English clubs will have to pay a potentially sizeable, tribunal agreed fee, which is likely a concern for some. Not to mention hurting his ability to get decent personal terms, poor lamb. Moving as far away from his Dad as possible, is likely to be his best career move.
  11. It's interesting, but I'd say don't take a generation to be specifically 25 years, and don't assume the orginator was young when they became a Red. I guess the great great grandparent could reasonably be approx 100 years old, or at least born 100 years ago (eg 70+ years older than the poster), making them in their 50's and 60's during Beatles/Shankly era's etc. Seems reasonable to me that said person could have gained an affinity with Liverpool at that point. The poster's parent could have been born around this time too. Great pic by the way Kallib.

  15. Would he not start with Villa in time for preseason ? They'd be back before the World Cup finishes I'd have thought.

  19. No doubt. Wouldn't surprise me if money changed hands elsewhere in the world, to assist the likes of PSG, City, Chelsea, to comply with FFP. That Luiz deal would cost PSG around £10-12.5M per year, and make Chelsea around £40M in one hit. The potential for laundering through ropey transfers, and other business transactions between vaguely linked companies, is pretty clear. To be honest, our deals with the likes of Boston based Dunkin Donuts would merit interest if I were involved in monitoring FFP. Side tracking to the other thread I guess, but owners will clearly do what they can to circumvent FFP, just as they are used to doing to circumvent taxation laws in their everyday businesses.
  20. or lucky in the case of around half of those.
  21. I tend to agree with a lot of what you've said here. I think we as fans are often guilty of refusing to believe a player might just think there's a better option for them out there. The modern game, particularly with regards to International talent, dictates that players want to play in the CL. Money is also a huge, indeed to many players a bigger factor, and if we are low on both counts then we will miss out. Having CL should hopefully mean we can attract ambitious, in demand, players, with only the unrealistic cash demands/payments from the likes of City/Chelsea/Madrid etc being a stumbling block. I'd be amazed if a player chose Spurs over us this Summer for instance, regardless of which clown is doing the negotiating.
  22. This £49 million nett they can spend. Anyone know if that's new gross transfer values, or amortised fees ? eg, if it's amortised and they spend £100M this Summer, it could be put down as £20M, however that would then be in addition to historic fees due for amortisation, such as a £40M fee on a player 12 months ago, accounting for £8M. If it's amortised, then I'd imagine they might be a long way towards the £49M figure already, which would at least be more of a punishment/deterrent.
  23. Can't register more players in CL than they used this year (21), can't spend more than a measly 49mill nett, and can't increase the wage bill(which can be reduced slightly anyway by loaning out a couple more players than this year). Until transfer bans or exclusion from competitions are handed out, the suspicion will remain that UEFA are just trying to cajole clubs into compliance. That punishment does nothing to City at all, still just the threat ot serious sanctions.

  25. The thing is, they still had a chance of 4th, albeit small. Anything can happen in football, but they have no f***ing optimism at all, which is ironic .
