  1. That's about 4 greeks isn't it
  2. Needs to talk to his defence more, he's always too quiet when he plays. Think he's a decent keeper though. Better than some of the s**** we've had as backup before.
  3. I liked the fact that he was geeing up the other players in the tunnel shouting 'copme on lads'. Shows he's not intimidated by it all. Too early to judge but he looks a good prospect.
  4. Was told that he just sat in his office most of the day and left MacAteer to it. Wonderful player, one of the best we've ever had but should steer clear of management
  5. The little f***** has been misquoted. He meant to say that the sick room was the biggest in the world. After all he's seen them all.
  6. With the way our full backs are moving forward morethis season I've noticed that quite often there is a back 3 of Carra on the right, Masch in the middle and Skrtel on the left (when we are attacking). Problem is that if an attack breaks down and a quick counter is launched we don't have decent pace in the 2 centre halves to close down the attack. I think this is in Carra's mind hence him running aound everywhere trying to organise both midfield and defence.
  7. Hopefully the club will make him guest of honour for a game. Welcome home Michael.
  8. QUOTE(Gomez @ Jun 23 2009, 16:07) Must be more behind it. Its probably to do with the fact that he's f***ing crap now. And refuses as pay as you play deal
  9. Wasn't there one about having Jaap Stam on trial for a bit. Uncle Roy thought he didn't have the tools for the premiership. Ged asked Cantona to come on trial but he refused.
  10. I saw Vinny Jones at the airport a few years back. Gave him some stick. He heard my accent then started talking about LFC, the final etc. he reckoned that McMahon bottled it when they were all saying they'd rip his head off and stick it in the hole. He also said that Ronnie Whelan was the hardest player he'd ever played with bar none. He said that Whelan would break your legs for fun and the ref wouldn't even see it.
  11. Didn't Moores personally fund the stand redevelopment / underwrite the Kop redevelopment and pay for a couple of players himself? As a business man though he was s****. He also had a policy of not signing any player over 26 (due to return of investment) when Roy wanted Sherringham?
  12. I would expect Sami to play in the middle to counter anything in the air and Carra to play at right back.
  13. I think it's all about belief with him. If he beats his opponent early on then he usually does well. If he doesn't it seeme to sap his confidence and he tries the easy option or goes missing. I think he has all the attributes to be a quality player for us. He just needs to be mentally stronger. One thing I noticed was against the scum. Mash crossed a wild ball and Babel started screaming at him. If he had that mindset every game he would be a monster.
  14. I was at an MTV aftershow party last Thursday. Pennant was there throwing back bottles of ale late on. Thought it was no alcohol 48 hours before a game? I think the lad had talent but in his head he clearly thought that he had more and didn't have to work hard. What a d****ead
  15. Reminds me of the way Alan Hansen would do it if we were losing. I could never understand why Hansen wouldn't do it when it was 0 - 0.
  16. Agger at left back anyone? Good with the ball, strong, good positional sense.
  17. Reds reportedly bid for Barry Liverpool are understood to have launched their bid to sign Aston Villa captain Gareth Barry by tabling an initial £10million offer. The Reds are believed to have formally contacted Villa on Thursday with their bid for the England midfielder. There has been speculation for the past fortnight that 27-year-old Barry has emerged as one of Rafael Benitez's major summer transfer tasrgets. It remains to be seen whether Villa manager Martin O'Neill will accept the bid for Barry who has two years to run of his current contract. But Benitez wants Barry to form a partnership with his England colleague and close friend Steven Gerrard. Barry, who celebrates the 10th anniversary of his Villa debut next week, has made no secret of his desire to play Champions League football. He is on more than £40,000 a week at Villa and could come close to doubling that if he moved to Anfield or Chelsea who have also been linked with the player. The former Brighton trainee has already expressed a desire to hold talks with Villa manager Martin O'Neill to assess what his transfer plans are for the 2008-2009 campaign. Villa are challenging strongly for a UEFA Cup spot but Barry wants to see whether Villa are in a position to move to the next level. O'Neill pulled off a masterstroke in persuading Barry to sign a new four-year deal when he took charge of Villa in the summer of 2006. But he may find it harder to persuade Barry to sign a new contract and to convince him to stay with the midlands club. http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...3508867,00.html
  18. Skirtel is that Pepperami bloke. He even looks like him. Tough as f*** and telling you to come back and finish him off. Was good last night. Didn't allow Dogbreath to dominate him and wasn't scared to do the rough stuff.
  19. Had this sent to me: Dirk Kuyt walks into Burger King with his missus and asks for 2 whoppers. The girl behind the counter thinks for a minute and then says 'OK, your first touch is great and you are dead good looking'. I'll get me coat...
  20. Looky here: http://www.awimb.com/fudforum/index.php?t=...500#msg_1677355
  21. Problem is he heads like a defender alot of the time. He seems to get under the ball and lift it rather than getting over the ball and heading it down. I remember John Barnes saying his (Crouch) calf muscles were too thin to get the power to spring well and his neck was too thin to power a header.
  22. We had Jap Staam on trial too. Uncle Roy thought he'd never be able to cope with the premiership. Kenny Dalglish on trial but was rejected.
  23. It said on Radio City that he's Torres' and Rafa's Agent
  24. We can make omens of anything. For example we've won the European cup in Paris Rome Istanbul London We are due to play in Athens. If we win there we will be able to spell out APRIL from the locations that we've won it in. Robbie Fowler was born in April so he will score the winner. So we can make anything from anything.
  25. Said on Radio City this morning that he's spoken to Rafa and it will be his last game tmw. He is to be given the armband for the game. Bye bye Robbie - absolute legend. Can we have one more sniffing the lines please.
