i don't like being on the para side of the parapet, but there has been a consistent and sustained media campaign against benitez for over a year now (my brother yesterday said it's probably since ramos went, he's probably right). i know they like us when we win and we can't expect praise for some of the performances we've put in thus far, but the nasty personal diatribes from all over the shop are totally uncalled for, and impossible to dismiss as par for the course. it's like he's england manager. and fair enough, if england employed a stern foreign tactician who clipped the ego's of some of the country's biggest talents and forced them to play a sometimes unnaturally rigid and un english system the knives would be out in a big way...
