Slot clearly values rest and relaxation. The players have loved spending the nights before games in their own beds instead of a team hotel for example. Maybe this will holiday help us have an equally good injury record next season - one of the main factors that’s won us the league. I’m sure Arteta would have kept the intensity high if Arsenal had won it, because that’s how he works. I like this approach.

This is exactly the sort of thing I would turn a blind eye to in other circumstances. But you're right, it just adds to the whole complacent - cocky - half ar$ed attitude thing.

Imagine doing so well in your job that your boss says come in whenever you like on Thursday, do a day on Friday, then Sunday night you either get to go away with your family or your workmates for a few days.

United will never go anywhere. Even now they are going to win one of the top trophies and they have probably just had their worst season in my whole life. I really did hold out hope that this stadium would pop the blues but the other teams coming up for the past few years have basically been resigned to their fate as soon as they come up.

I don’t remember any Twitter element personally. It was the mainstream media - especially keys and gray era sky - dancing to Ferguson’s tune. Our fans (plus key figures in the team) bought it and went with it, partly because they already didn’t like Rafa going back as far as Athens maybe.

Yeah definitely. And there is a large slice of orrible lunatic in there. I kind of get what Joyce is saying, in that a lot of people will have been surprised by it. It almost definitely hasn’t been displayed on such a grand scale before. Which I’m kind of surprised by. That it hasn’t been revealed sooner.

Maybe. Zubimendi is the first player since Alexis Sanchez that I can remember us both being in for. Chelsea are always in for all our targets.

Players choose Chelsea over us, it's annoying but we have to accept they are our biggest rival in transfer season.

Slot is extremely matter of fact in footballing matters. So all the things everyone has always said about Elliott are the reasons Slot has frozen him out and will move him on. Have to respect it.

EXACTLY. Owen gets a platform so he gets to continually rewrite history but the streets don't forget as the saying goes. I remember being quite excited when he came back to play in someone's testimonial while he was a United player. Giving him a load of grief actually made the whole enterprise of going to that match worthwhile. Nice one for the FA Cup in 2001 though.

No, just the Lucas one and a couple of others, Murphy v Southampton the week before he scored the winner at OT. That was quite nasty. I don't think it has happened before but I'm not surprised it did, it's always been there, bubbling under the lid. Edit, that last bit wasn't meant to rhyme, please refrain from rapping it aloud.
