I was talking to a united fan last night about the Burnham clanger. He was saying the only good way of looking at it is he needed to say it, he will have been under pressure from the money men, but that might now be it. He hasn’t broken any promises to them, he’s intervened on their behalf, taken the pressure off, now he will let it happen without further intervention. Person I was talking to wasn’t particularly optimistic that this will actually come to pass but I thought it was a decent theory.

I guess part of this is just me continuing to explain it to myself as I did at the time.
