  1. I thought it was decent up there at the start, but then after being asked to sit down (and after the shenanigans of the Derby game) and it was when everyone was sat down it went to s***. In the second half it got going again, but the same thing... having to sit down ruined it. And as for the announcements every 5 minutes... the fella on the speaker must just love the sound of his own voice!!

  4. At his peak he was the best striker I've ever seen, and by a fair distance. I am a touch too young to remember Van Basten, and after him there's probably Batistuta but Ronaldo was the best!!

  14. If you look at it from an ownership / legal / finance etc viewpoint then yes, I'd agree. If you look at it from a perception / marketing etc viewpoint then it's clearly the sister paper of the sun. How many sun readers that buy a sunday paper would buying something else other than the NOTW??
  15. I can't see how people can claim it's not the Sunday Sun. I can see how there is an argument for the boycott to be aimed solely at the Sun to ensure it is not diluted.
  16. I've always considered the NOTW to be the "Sunday Sun", and as such wouldn't buy it. On the back of this, and having considered comments about boycotting The Times, Sky etc etc I thought I'd have a look into this a bit more by going onto the websites of the above. On the NOTW homepage it has a small Sun logo/link on the top right hand corner, and another link on the list down the right. There is also a link which has the Sky, NOTW and Sun logo on. I believe the fantasy football is a joint venture (but may be wrong) and I know the vouchers they do with discount on buying it is fro both the Sun and the NOTW. On The Times homepage I could see no reference, adverts or links regarding the Sun or the NOTW. On the Sky.com homepage I could see no reference, adverts or links regarding the Sun or the NOTW. On the SkySports.com homepage I could see no reference, adverts or links regarding the Sun or the NOTW. So for me, and in my opinion, there is no doubt in my mind that the NOTW is 'The Sunday Sun'. One thing i would say in line with those that say the boycott is only for the Sun and not extended to the NOTW is that seeing the NOTW doesn't get me angry in the same way the Sun does.

  22. Peter Reid and Paul Jewell are 2 other names to be linked.
  23. In fairness there's going to be a LOT tougher taskes than Toulouse to come, but it's been promising. It is a long season however, but if you can't be full of hope now, when can you?
  24. Derby conceded a goal in the 120th minute, then lost 7-6 on penalties (with 9 penalties for each side being taken)
  25. Supposedly concious as he left the ground
