  1. Could be for Andalucia which has a green and white flag

  3. The ironic thing is that the system we finished the season with would have suited him far more than how we played when he was here.
  4. There's no higher praise than that
  5. I don't think the proposal has been made concrete, but the way it has been presented to the media is that it would be to do with qualifying for the national team and therefore nationality based. Which would breach EU law. If FIFA wanted to they could introduce the UEFA rule and possibly expand it in terms of numbers, or limit non-EU players. Trying anything else (eg sport being given a special dispensation from EU employment laws) is highly unlikely to succeed becasue the EU are so protective of the freedom of movement of labour of its citizens. You also need to bear in mind that FIFA are likely to want the same rule worldwide which makes it even more annoying for them that one part of the world will effectively dictate the terms of the rule.
  6. The difference is that the UEFA rule does not discriminate by nationality (as you can be of any nationality, just have been at the club long enough and from early enough age). This is why it has not fallen foul of EU law.
  7. I think he is the best around for that very reason as well. Dare I say it, but his style of play reminds me a lot of Baresi
  8. At Melwood and part of Ablett's reserve squad along with others (IIRC) who could be young enough for the u-18s
  9. As does Lucas
  10. Quite agree. Just amused me that in a highlights video which presumably was trying to show how good he was the first half doesn't achieve that aim. Couple of good goals in there, though he does look very young. One for the future?
  11. The first half of the clip shows him missing a succession of chances, which begs the question con he shut?

  13. Absolutely. When I was younger I used to watch the defending of Baresi with awe - he was truly the master of the dark arts.
  14. Agreed some good runs. Also some great passing - it was Lucas that put Voronin in to round the keeper. He also played one glorious pass out to the wing between two Arsenal players for Pennant to run onto without breaking stride. Pennant did nothing with it typically! On both occasions he had time on the ball though...
  15. Agreed. he came twice against united and missed and was blamed for the goals - "he should have stayed on his line". How about Crouch for not following the run? How about Rafa for not having someone on the post in those situations? Added - What about Pennant for giving the freekick away?
  16. Probably, plus he would have wanted physically stronger full backs vs Everton at a guess.
  17. I think the biggest problem was their lack of physical development which has become increasingly important in the english game. TLT never bulked up despite being tall and FSP never grew - so despite decent skills they get too easily knocked off the ball. However they weren't the first and won't be the last overhyped kids who never made it. Nii Lamptey anyone?
