I have heard him talk about his Hillsborough experiences before and he is genuinely affected by it all. This new drama is a 3 parter which starts on Monday. The first one is mainly about his character Eddie, he is also in the other 2 episodes. He plays a man dying of a brain tumour, not the lightest of subjects, but it is worth a watch.

You cant compare a footballers career path with that of a 'normal' person. A top prem footballer, Rooney for example could ( financially speaking ) retire at 19. Money becomes a secondary issue, or rather more of a status issue, ie, wages indicating someones importance to a club.
