  1. I know the lad in question, he did the same at Stamford Bridge for the semi in 2005. In Athens I was watching him, he had no camera, just a high vis vest thing, anyway, he was milling around trying to look busy, bossing people about. Next minute, about 30 mins into first half, a UEFA official comes over and was questioning him, I could see the lad pretending to look for his UEFA pass, then gesturing as if he had lost it. He got frogmarched down then tunnel past our fans. Poor fella, worth a go though. About 10 minutes later he comes back out wearing a brand new pressed UEFA photographers pass, complete with photo of himself. Class it was, his face was a picture. He then walked back to where he was right behind the goal and shifted the genuine photographer who had the audacity to nick his chair.
  2. With regards to transfers, does anyone else get the feeling Rafa isn't likely to sign 'star' players. He seems to prefer to sign relatively unfashionable ( for want of a better word ) players and try to turn them into a team unit. I also cant see him signing any flair wingers, I think he will prefer someone who is a grafter on the left, up and down, engine, sort of sounds like Malouda would be perfect for Rafa. Maybe he doesn't like the idea of star players getting lots of attention? Not a criticism, just an observation and a gut feeling.
  3. Bryn Gunn used to always be brilliant at Anfield for Norwich. He always spoke really highly of our fans too.
  4. I want one of the 'Athens' 80's casual t shirts they are selling. Just been there but its closed.
  5. Is it open during the week? Or just match days?
  6. We were s*** toady, but Bent was superb. Worked his plums off, won loads of headers, strong, fast and unselfish. He deserved his goal. Did himself no harm there today in front of Rafa
  7. I was queuing to get my ticket for the match today, next to the main entrance, where the protest was. It was totally embarrassing. Even the people in the protest looked like they were sorry to be there. It was pathetic, singing songs about Parry's bad haircut for f***s sake. Gang of tossers! Simple maths means people are going to be disappointed with tickets, but that protest today was totally ridiculous.
  8. We are definitely interested in Pato. Dont know how close to signing he is though
  9. I have a flight booked to Athens on the Sunday, going from Manc, £130. But no return sorted yet, any suggestions on web sites etc to try?
  10. Seems like a great fella Chris Coleman, shame he got sacked. Can see him being back in footie soon though.
  11. Absolute s*** house of a footballer, visibly shrank from the challenge tonight. So glad we didnt sign the lazy, heartless t***. He makes Pennant seem like Roy Keane.
  12. Stats and b******s is what you talk. If you had a feeling or a genuine knowledge of football you would just know that Finnan is not a s***house, regardless of tackling stats, free kicks conceded or anything, whereas Riise is.
  13. Like I said on page 1, if the winger is controlling it on the touch line, Riise is willing to go in on him there, its a 100/0 tackle, if however it becomes 50/50 or even 60/40 he pulls out. He is a s*** house and no amount of stats will change that.
  14. I know, but I wasn't sure if I had posted something unintentionally the other night, I had a few too many after PSV game, so am not sure what I said.
  15. What has bravery got to do with being fit all the time? Oh, and what about Sheffield United and Everton away this year? Went down like he had done a David Busst, got stretchered off, twisted ankle, f***ing big girl. With Finnan and Riise, in Rafa's first season he alternated Finnan with other full backs ( Josemi ) then realised Finnan was class and settled on him. Riise is still not our regular left back after 3 seasons. He is not and never will be as good a player as Finnan, ever! Finnans control, composure, passing, attitide, tackling, virtually everything is better than Riise's, except their left feet. Do you mean me Knox? Because I dont want him sold, I think he is useful to have in the squad, because he fills different positions and he has a goal threat. However, week in, week out, I would hope to get someone better in both of his positions.
  16. Well, surely Riise would be responsible for cutting out any danger down our left, thus negating any weakness at our back post? I am not sure this weakness exists though, I have seen Finnan win loads of headers at the back post. However you are advocating attacking Riise as it will allow the opposition to get plenty of crosses in? You are not good at this arguing lark are you?
  17. His problem is that you are talking nonsense I would imagine.
  18. As a left back, it is his job to defend. Goalscoring is a bonus if it happens. If we are in the middle of a goal drought, you never hear people say, well, when are one of the defenders going to do something? It is all about midfield and attack and rightly so. Plus, the goalscoring still doesn't excuse his blatant one-footedness or his lack of bravery in a tackle. If Jimmy Case played right mid against Riise, he would absolutely terrorise him
  19. So, now you are saying Riise is better than Finnan? Give me strength
  20. And Titus Bramble has outscored Carra.
  21. This content is not viewable to guests.
  22. That is entirely wrong in my opinion. Finnan, Carra, Agger and Reina are all better in their respective positions than Riise, and none of them are s***houses.
  23. Silly t***.
  24. Ian Harte was a great goalscored from left back. It is not the be all and end all.
  25. Poppycock
