Well, if thats how Rafa has judged it then that explains why we lost. I dont think he would treat the derby as just another match. It is unique, unlike any other game. You cannot just play in a derby as if its the same as Watford, Bolton, Spurs away. It is totally different.

I am not trying to belittle your opinion or anything, but you really cant understand a Merseyside derby unless you have to work/live/go to school with Evertonians. To say losing to Chelsea or the Mancs or whoever is just the same as losing to Everton is ridiculous IMO.

Fowler, Aurelio and Garcia should not have played or should ever play at Goodison Park in a derby. Our left hand side was a joke, everything came through it. Robbie, as much as I love him, is not at a good enough level to do it in a game like that. 2 out of Kuyt, Bellamy and Crouch with 1 on the bench virtually every week for me. Robbie should be in the squad for games against lesser teams at Anfield. Maybe it sounds harsh, but I just dont think he is good enough anymore to be starting for LFC. Leaving every bit of pace out of the team was a huge error by Rafa, Pennant, Bellamy and Gonzalez could and would have made a difference. In terms of the way the two teams shaped up, we would have had the upper hand early on by having more pace than them in key areas, forcing their back 4 to play deeper and Osman and Arteta to track back more. Its not just about saying 'Well Fowler did OK I thought therefore he warrants a place' - Its more than that.

I do agree with you, yes. Just pointing out that its not just Hyypia, Carra has weaknesses too. One thing about Hyypia is, he should quit international football, its doing him no good whatsoever. He cant get away with it anymore.

Carra does though, he plays loads of horrible floated balls in to nowhere, its one of his main weaknesses

I would love us to try and sign him, watched him again yesterday and he was class. He also has qualitites that our current centre halves dont have, he is quick and reads the game really well. He tends to break up attacks before they have started, a bit like Hansen used to. Just stepping in ahead of the forward to intercept before danger occurs. I also think he would sign for us like a shot, another boyhood red and all that.

I agree. Rafa really f***ed up yesterday, the 2nd time in 3 Goodison derbies. Our left hand side was as weak as piss and Robbie Fowler is not good enough to start at Goodison Park anymore. Kuyt and Bellamy were both better options yesterday. I also thought the substitutions were poor for once.

Gerrard never played well, but he never s*** out either. I watched Xabi physically shrink from going up for headers with Cahill cos he didnt fancy it. It was like watching a shadow of the real Alonso. One of the things I like about him is that he is as brave as anyone, yesterday he let himself down.

I think the Didi thing was just something that never got mentioned between them, so it obviously played on his mind that he was out of order and the book was a good time to say it. And, England v Liverpool.........Only one winner.

It is your right, of course it is. But deep down, ask yourself if you really think it. If you really, truly believe Whelan is a better player than Gerrard, then you dont know much about football. Ronnie Whelan was a top player, very good, but Gerrard is just so much better.

He is better than Whelan. It just gets silly this, he has far more in his game than Whelan ever had.
