Apparently Southgate was excellent in meetings with him and his agent. Came across really well, talked brilliantly, very ambitious etc.... Roeder came across like a right bell. Thats the difference sometimes in signing players.

With all due respect that is a crazy statement, just because you dont want Finnan rested, you're happy to continue with no good cover for him. I personally wouldnt want Xabi, Momo, SG, Reina, Carra, Sami or Bellamy rested, but its a necessity to have cover for all positions if you want success.

Every single footballer that has ever played the game looks better with better players around them, Deco is a great player who brings the best ouf of Ronaldinho, Messi and the rest. Not sure what the comparison to Murphy is about.
