Only watched the second half but thought Gomez looked a little lost. Gave the ball away quite a bit and seemed a bit erratic. Definitely need a new CB, but we knew that already.

We looked great in attack today. Almost makes you feel sorry for teams having to play against Salah and Mane with Phil behind them. With the possible exception of Firmino, who was a little sluggish, we looked really sharp. Also thought Robertson handled himself well. Cant wait for the season to begin.

If we get both VVD and Keita?

Having a dog play at DM might be the ticket we need. A rabid tackler who won't let anything get past him.

Fantastic response from us today. Started a little slow but you could tell goals were coming. Lovely to see Sturridge playing and playing well. What a talent he still is. Gini had a much better game today too.

Nope, the drop off this season from him has been pretty startling. Such a shame as he's always been one of my favourite players and was almost unplayable a few seasons back (and not because of injuries!). Reckon he could still do a job somewhere else, especially in a team that is slower in their build up play and doesnt ask the forwards to do much pressing.

Fully fit and firing he is worth 80m. You get a half season generally out of him so 40m seems about right. That said, it looks like he no longer can reach those heights of yesteryear when fit, so hopefully the other clubs haven't realised that yet.

Bobby was terrific today, as was Matip (what a great signing he has been, f***ing love watching him dribble it out of defense) Clean sheet, and the Mig once again was on it.

Loved how nonchalant he was before striking the ball for the goal today. Took his time and then hit it perfectly. His top was off before the ball had hit the net!

When he came on as the last sub but first thought was we can't sub him if he gets injured. Really hope he can regain some form for the final few matches.

Turned on the game as they scored so missed the first half (thankfully), but really pleased with the character of the team in the second half. Those cheeky Brazilians ruining Stoke's day. Nice start to the weekend.
