Del Piero was a fantastic talent from 1995-1998. His major problem was that he'd never show up for the Champs Lge final but he did excel in the Serie A. Following his knee injury in 1998 he struggled to regain that form. In fact he never has. To make matters worse his father's death affected him badly too and he kept on struggling with niggles. He also always struggles to perform for Italy in the major tournament. Even as recently as a few months ago he was in and out of the Juventus team. He is still a very talented player, can score great goals and can win many games with his brilliance. However he is nothing near what Baggio was in his peak. The injury makes the comparison unfair...........

Nah it is just the team coming out of a slump. You can see all the moves etc. that we were making in December coming back. Quick football, great running off the ball and into space. We were not doing that for 6-8weeks and were struggling with results.

On 03/04 form few would have missed Finnan. Since Rafa took over he has been amazing. I think Rafa is one of those who appreciates Finnan. He says that Finnan and Carra are the most improved players of 2005.

It has been a good week for a much maligned player. 1st goal and a good game. I am still not convinced by him but I am pleased to see him do well.

This type of goal is what Rafa wants from his teams. Quick combination plays with a lot of intelligent movement off the ball. We were doing a lot of that in December but when the team tired a couple of months backa lot of that spark was lost. Good to see it return.

10 goals is a decent return for Crouch. The pity is that alongside him you need a 20 goal a season striker or at least 2 other strikers who can get 15 goals plus. Cisse is on 13 but he scored most of his until October.
