"We will take into consideration Liverpool's offer and also what Valencia will offer my son" said his father. Fernandez is born in Portugal but his parents are both Spanish, with his mother having dual citizenship. From age 8 until 13 he trained with Benfica and later moved on to Sporting Lisbon. He later moved on to Real Madrid but last summer he was sold to Valencia and is under contract until 20011. The buy out clause for this young centre-back is 6m Euros.
