Imagine if we had a Hazard, Young, Sanchez type player in his place and what effect that would have on the team. Is keep him, but I'd have him as 3rd choice striker.

Who wouldnt swap his place in the squad for a quick winger? And kuyts? I'd keep maxi over kuyt but if we swap both for quicker, skilful, goalscoring wingers in the summer (Young, Nzogbia, Hazard) I dot think a single person would complain, even pissed and I am now never.going.to.happen. Just like if you'd said that about Heskey / Biscan / Cheyrou / Kewell / Diouf. Not good enough I dont think, hes no Merieles.

Gervinho plays either up top or as a wide forward, would be an option for us to play Carroll centre with Suarez and him either side. I reckon we'll sign one of Taiwo, Contreao or Enriquie for left wing back M'Vila for the DM position Young for the fast paced winger Adam for another option in centre mid Gervinho for an option of playing striker or wide of Carroll ala Suarez Throw in the return of Aquilani to compete/cover with Merieles and Stevie and we would have some squad

I'm going to upset the 'I hate twitter bridage' but seen this before: JamieDalton82 I fully expect Taye Taiwo and Gervinho to be Liverpool players in the Summer as it stands now. Taiwo would suite left wing back and Gervinho would be great to have as back up / different option to Carroll

Think you've hit the nail on the head there Leo. We are crying out for at least one if now two of these and it sounds like there are going to be some available this summer for various reasons - Young, Hazard, Nzogbia etc - Sanchez for Udinese looks even more exciting than those three but would the hardest of the lot to get.

If we are playing 5-3-2 / 5-4-1 then the defensive side of this game is slightly less of a worry

Definitely agree with this. He's a good player to have when the team is playing well, not so much when we are not. He's good a marked improvement to make if he is to stay involved next season, can see him in the team if we play the 5-4-1 formation Kenny seem's to be favouring, or Kuyt for that matter: Lucas Merieles Gerrard Suarez Carroll

Aquilani could be awesome in this new almost 'four centre mids' formation, given some freedom he could really turn it on. Lucas / M'Vila sitting Two of Merieles, Stevie, Aquilani Suarez Carroll With Kelly / Johnson / Contrea bombing down the wings. TASTY.

I reckon it was Robert Huth for £10m, althought it could have been a host of players to be fair, including Cant Control.
