Mascherano to take care of Kaka, leaving Xabi and Pirlo to battle it out as the playmakers with Xabi keeping a close eye on Seedorf. Gerrard given a roll just in front of them to play off the lad upfront with Kewell and Pennant supporting those two right upfield when we have the ball and then dropping when we havent. I think he'll 'gamble' on Kewell, although I reckon he may have anyway. Hes been training for 2 solid months and has looked on fire in the minutes he has actually played. Back four picks itself if Riise isnt played further forward. Pennant has been superb lately and with Mash and Xabi both in the side means we should be exposed by playing both him and Harry. Obviously now this will be nothing like it and we'll end up playing Traore, with Biscan at the Centre-back.

Hes only been left out of the Chelsea game that was 'big' and that was surely because we needed to score to stay in and hence Stevie played in the middle. Chelsea won two titles playing with one up front and two wider players, be they duff, robben or cole, I think the main reason they didnt win it this season was because they changed there system from that to something very flat - even with two upfront.

Because he also plays RW? I'm pretty sure he scored a hatrick the other day playing just there... move Simao over then and leave Kewell there

I think Rafa has big plans for Xabi next season, got a feeling he'll buy the players he needs and go back to his Valencia formation like so: -------------Alonso----Mascherano------------- Alves------------Gerrard---------Kewell/Simao ------------Kuyt/Eto'o/Crouch------------------- Obviously thats purely speculation of who'll come in, but I can really see him going for that system next season, ala Chelsea before they bought 17 CMs and had great success with it in this league. Also the same system as Barca play... Mascherano to do the dirty work, Alonso to dictate the play and Gerrard and the Wider men to support the the lad up front. Think this is what he prefers and I like it :-) Dont think it would work anywhere near as well without Xabi though, need that sitting play maker and he's one of if not the best around.

Couldn't agree more with Leo. Kuyt in Holland played much more forward and hit 25+ goals over the past four seasons, if you aint a good finisher you aint gonna achieve that, its that simple. If you look at Valencia and then us, how many of Rafa's strikers has hit 25+ or even 20+ in a season? Mista scored 18 and that was the closest. He also took penalties. Rafa seems to like his strikers to do a lot more than just goal hang and wait for a chance, maybe if Kuyt did this he hit 25+ for us.

We've been on a brilliant run, a superb run. Just get the feeling to win leagues we really need to win these games and we totally played in their hands today with us just hoofing the ball up so Stubbs and Yobo could practise their heading skills. Thats seems to be the problem with two big lads upfront, its the easy option. I dont like comparing us with other teams but I'm gonna do it anyway - there is no way Arsenal would of done that, nor the Scum, we were crying out for some to make the play and it didnt happen. Shame the only real playmaker we have is out for the season, King Luis may have made the difference today to give us that little spark.

I was extremly excited about DIC, thought that they were not only genuine (and LFC fans to boot), but could really, REALLY take us up to and above the level of Chelski. There is a dark cloud over our club today, no doubt about it. American businessmen and English football should never mix in my mind (And I'm sure fans of AFC United would agree) and this is the guy who wanted us to groundshare with Everton, yes EVERTON! Jeeeeez. Why would he want or more important NEED to do that if he had anything close to the money and value that DIC could of brought to the table. I'm very forlorn about this and if, IF this goes bellyup and the new owners dont have the best interests of the club at heart and our once great institution of Liverpool Football Club would be totally ripped apart, which would be truely saddening.

I watched the gam on the BBC tonight, yes I am a bit ashamed to admit it, but there you go, I did it. For all those who were at the ground and sung for 6 straight minutes I have nothing butn respect to you. WE deserved a win tonight, even if it was just for you. I personally watched the game on the BBC, yes I did. Now this is for anyone else who did the same thing and beyond. Everytime we got a corner, at either end, there was a Red who had a board or a poster slaggin off the sun (SCUM newspaper) about the tragedy. Norammly at game son the TV (not just the BBC) they show the corner taker. Theyb did it when we won the corner, but as soon as they didn they moved awat and didnt show them again. Not even when we scored. It felt like the BBC didnt want to show what the fans were presenting (ie the posters) not once. They showes Arsenalsm posteres numerous times, but not ours. This scum 'fan' (yeah, you know the one of those who sing: "We won it two times, without killing anyone") has emailed after a while of not seeing him with some LFC joke about Butlins and the fact that apparently both our seasons are over in August blah blah blah... I duely sent him a pic our Stevie G holding the European Cup aloft stating that was what you said the 04/05, as you do. Then he replied saying how 'our' european cup - the one we won so much we got to keep has their scummy name on it as much as our since Milan kept the last one in the early 90s. I think he thinks that only the names of the European teams who have won it since that Milan sides have therefore got their names on this won, I thought it was ALL clubs since the competition started.... Can anyone put this right? Ta Laa!

Gerrrad, Sissoko and Alonso (yes I know he's having a dodgy start to the season) is a midfield threesome that has got EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. Has any other team got a more balanced threesome in Europe? NO. But its always how you play them. This three could and has dominated any midfield in the world - tomorrow is the test. But if Chelski (the evil of football and I say that as a FOOTBALL fan and not just an LFC fan) and they do have a 'top' central midfield, but it seems at the expense at the attacking wingers they won the league with last season, surely do propose the best test of all. I think we'll do em. I just just hope that Pennant and Gonzarlez (He could be THE key) are the wide men, cause with that midfield three they would run riot, lets try Dirk up-front on this own for an hour, bring Bellamy on after an hour and maybe even the lad who has scored as many as Wayne for England in not even half the games and see what happens in the last 20, we'll cause them problems, no doubt. Just bring it on. I for one cant wait!

I can't believe that people are ACTUALLY saying Morientes should play... Get a grip, have you not been wtaching us this season? Cisse, for all his faults, scores goals for us and for all those who say they are never important ones - the super cup final. He also gives us another option. Nando and Crouch is Cup Final Suicide. Cisse DESERVES his place after his recent performances, like the two against WEST HAM and he surely must be the man.
