With all the top teams struggling to break away from the pack and become the main challenger and with woeful start to the start under the Hodge (and I include the summer's transfer dealings in that) I really think this year could have been the year we not only challenged to the end of the season but actually went that one step further and won the league. The way the summer's transfer dealings went was badly (which was basically shocking for a club who wants to be challenging with the players brought in by Roy probably just about good enough for a mid table side, bar Meireles who depending on who you believe maybe would have been bought anyway). I genuinely think that Rafa would have sorted the striker problem out, or at least sorted as best he could given the resources available at the time. Coupled with this there is no way he would have let Aquilani go on loan, which still winds me up now. Also there is no way we would have ended up with Konchesky as 1st choice left back (that felt insane typing that), Poulsen or Brad Jones at all, which means money for a fairly decent back-up striker to Nando. 7th last year wasnt good enough, definitely, but this year I think Benitez giving the same backing as hodgson was in the summer (which wasnt much) would have sorted a few issues out, we may well have got Meireles anyway into the bargain too with Masch going and we could have had some starting potential containing him, Gerrard and Aquilani as the midfield three with the greatly improving Lucas to step in. Just feels like it could have been his and our year but for those clowns and the words 'mutual consent'.

Konchesky should be dropped after that Spurs show with Aurelio coming in (who is streets ahead as a player)... Strange decision if that the right team.

If everyone was fit (including Fabio & Agger) what would our best starting 11 actually be? It's quite gutting thinking about Aquilani as I'd personally have him right in the team, I think mine would be: -----------------------Reina---------------------- Johnson-----Srktel-----Agger------Aurelio -------------Merieles---Gerrard--------------- Maxi---------------Aquilani---------------Cole ----------------------Torres----------------------- Feel quite cheap leaving Drik out but that front 6 are all ball players with an excellent 1st touch, the same can be said if the defence with perhaps the exception of Srktel who is still far better on the ball than Carra or The Greek. The one problem with that is we are playing a financial masterstroke in preserving Alberto's value this season which really does mess things up I reckon and I'm certainly not convince about Cole behing Torres, so would poss go with: -----------------------Reina---------------------- Johnson-----Srktel-----Agger------Aurelio -------------Merieles---Lucas--------------- Maxi---------------Gerrard---------------Cole ----------------------Torres----------------------- It's just annoying that Agger and Aurelio are always fecking injured and he's on loan. 4-4-2 away from home at a 'top four' club, I remember the last time that happened. Saying that I think 'arry with probably go with the same formation, although their wide men may a touch more pace than ours...

There is an app on the iPhone called iFooty which sends you a push notification (or a pop up text) whenever your team scores (with who scored it), when the match is about to start, the HT and FT scores etc...

That video actually heard my eyes. Unbelievable that, he looked as good as he looked for us against portsmouth last season and to think we let him go on loan and the different he would have made to us with him in our team this season. We have have had him, Merieles and Gerrard in the middle this season and add Joe Cole and Maxi to that and that is some football we could have been playing. That flick at 2:20 is unreal.

After seen that youtube clip and reading Mr B's comments, I'm a fair bit more positive than I was before, he looks really skillful and certainly not as slow as some have said. I always think that our pitch is too narrow at Anfield and this doesnt particularly help wingers - I reckon the bigger the pitch the better as we are the home team and smaller teams can never get that stretched when they play us cause the pitch just aint that wide - look at Old Toilet and The Emeriates - f***ing massive!! For an £8m left winger (a position we needed to fill) he seems to be the most underwhelming signing I can remember costing anywhere near that much... Now I cant say I'm excited, all I can think of is Nunez, but I'm waiting to be proven wrong by the rather tall fella... He just doesnt seem to have the attitributes to make hims anything but 'decent'. Please help me and basically every fecker else in getting excited about this signing... Please?

We need a player who can dribble, is quick, can pick a pass and score in the final third. Play him behind Torres in any of the three places and we're getting somewhere.
