Which player shall we victimise this time.

Crouch.....Why has he become a sacred cow above criticism ?

A very ordinary player.

Something we've known for a long time but scared to say it. We've got behind him because all the other fans were against him.

Is unfortunately correct.

Maybe, after a couple of years of us aiming everything at his head, he'll have learned to use it.

In all seriousness, the biggest disappointment for me today was Gerrard.

Once again, a big match needed our captain to take responsibility for the team and throw us forwards. Yeah, Warnock made a mistake for the 2nd goal. The first could easily have been avoided too, but Gerrard was anonymous today. Even with 15 minutes to go, Gerrard was strolling around the pitch. He should have been demanding the ball and getting us back into the game. So disappointed with him.

Totally agree, He never looked arsed

He's being overplayed, because we simply don'y have the quality to come in if we lose him or Alonso. Our squad is not strong enough.

People were mainly pleased with our work in the transfer window, but we did nothing to really strengthen our first choice options.

The officials were garbage. Every Chav foul or bad challenge is hardly called yet everything we did got penalised. These refs are clueless when it comes to seeing the awful challenges made by Chelsea players.

Our whole team was woeful today. From keeper to forwards we failed to give it our best in a agme we could not afford to lose and really had to win after the other results this weekend.

5 games coming up that will make or break our season. In reality, we can not afford to lose any of them.

I can remember plenty of runs, shots crosses and tackles from Gerrard today. Anonymous? Hardly.

What did he well today? He got past Essien once and put in a great left foot cross.

I didn't see many good crosses, I didn't see any great tackles.

What I saw was a player that was frustrated and instead of doing his damned best to help the team, let his head drop.

The player that was running until the end was Alonso.

No way was he not arsed - we've played twice as many games as most of our opposition this season. Tiredness is being mistaken for lack of effort/application.

I don't agree that he didn't care. I was disappointed that it wasn't him that was talking to the officials after Reina's sending off - Sami was the one doing that. I didn't see him geeing up the players and encouraging them. I could care less if we lost to Chelsea but our captain should never let his head drop.

I agree that we don't have a player to come in for Stevie, although I think Sissoko can play more advanced than he is

Very nearly equalise

He was isolated a lot second-half when I though Rafa should've moved him in field so he could have more impact on the game. His corners nearly led to a goal aswell. Wrong scapegoat there I'm afraid.

Still think he should've played as a supporting striker to Crouch, with Kewell and Garcia on the flanks. We were toothless upfront again....

Don't agree he let his head drop at all. He was given a job to do and he stuck to it and worked his a*** off. Unfortunately, this meant he was sometimes isolated on the right.

Bottom line, we need more options for right midfield, so we can free Stevie up for the middle.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, we need a LB, a RM and 2 goal scoring forwards. The way Robbie has been working so hard on his fitness, maybe he can be one of the forwards for a few years. All the other top teams have spent big on their forwards; we haven't (not succesfully anyways, we forked out for one but he spends more time on his hair than his football, apparently). If only Rafa had the money we spent on Diouf, Cisse et al.

We played great football today. But, if we can't score we don't deserve the points.
