Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 over the years. Zidane against Denmark in Euro 2000. He took the piss out of us that day (and generally throughout the tournament). Keane against juve in 99. Effenberg in their 4-1 win over Madrid (CL quarters?). Ronaldinho against Real this season.
12twelve Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Hierro in the 98 Euro Cup final. Everything he did was perfect
Falconhoof Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Lampard, CL: Chelsea - Bayern Van Basten's hattrick against England in 88.
stressederic Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 The entire Barca team at Anfield for that 3-1 game. Ronaldo (proper one) against United at Old Trafford, scored a hattrick. Bergkamp against Leicester, scored a hattrick. Bergkamp in, I think it was France 98, or Euro 2000, for Holland scored a phenomenal goal in one game and just look head and shoulders above everyone else on the pitch. Henry (take your pick)
deacon Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Hate to say it, but Keane against Juve 1999. His performance against Holland in the qualifier when McAteer scored when they won 1-0 was immense too.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 it was against argentina in 98. phenomenal goal.
Dominus Maximus Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Kaka first half vs Liverpool 25 may...
Internationinteroperability Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Lars Windfeld, AGF, against Nantes in the late 90's. Best performance by a 'keeper ever seen!
Guz Posted January 29, 2006 Posted January 29, 2006 Henry at highbury v us on good friday a few years back, totally unplayable. I thought he was better in the 2-2 a couple of years before, when Heskey equalised in the last minute. We were run ragged by Henry, Vieira, Pires and Bergkamp all night.
floyd Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 1994 World Cup Final Brazil V Baresi. Simply the best defender EVER.
sean Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 More recently, Rooney v Bolton a couple of years ago with Everton.
crisps Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 diouf vs mancs in carling cup final c.ronaldo against us last season absolutely took the piss too not sure abut best though!
anny road Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 some of these are ace...Ronaldo against us? One of th best you have ever seen? ffs
Rex Ham Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 He was everywhere that day. Gabbidon against Italy when we spanked them. Bin Man for Wales against Holland. We lost 7-1 but it could've been double that if it wasn;t for Southall. Immense he was, fair play.
Ombudsam Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Zidane vs England in a friendly in 99. He refused to give us the ball Smith vs Liverpool 2004. I've never been so relieved to see a player go off and i virtually never notice the opposition Henry vs anyone
psl Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Rivaldo for Barca against Valencia a few years back on the final day of the season. Re that Barca team at Anfield when they won 3-1, they really were only brilliant for the last twenty minutes or so (after they got the 2nd). Game could have gone either way at 1-1 and we had a very good chance to go back into the lead.
MarkD Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Antonio Nunez last night against Madrid. There's a right winger we should look at.
floyd Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Ronaldinhio against Real Madrid this season wasn't too bad either
CarraLegend Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Smith vs Liverpool 2004. I've never been so relieved to see a player go off and i virtually never notice the opposition
Ombudsam Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I know it sounds stupid but everything that happens on a pitch in my biased mind is cos a Liverpool player did something good or a Liverpool player f*cked up. We either played well or shyte. The XI who we're facing had no bearing on that
cymrococh Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 Bin Man for Wales against Holland. We lost 7-1 but it could've been double that if it wasn;t for Southall. Immense he was, fair play.I remember that. By God, we were sh*t then.
Kvarme Ate My Food Posted January 30, 2006 Posted January 30, 2006 I know it sounds stupid but everything that happens on a pitch in my biased mind is cos a Liverpool player did something good or a Liverpool player f*cked up. We either played well or shyte. The XI who we're facing had no bearing on that I agree, they are just so many obstacles in our way
