Ancelotti?

Corriere Della Sera reporting Ancelotti getting close to leaving PSG. Madrid interested as well as Liverpool. "The reds are considering ending their collaboration with the current manager Brendan Rodgers. Would Ancelotti consider them given that in the past he's managed Chelsea? Difficult to say so now, but in the future anything is possible."

I can't remember where I saw it, but someone on Twitter was saying FSG are still looking at a DofF structure. I'd be happy with Ancellotti coming in over BR if that is what is being discussed. I think it'd help BR a lot, even though he probably hates the idea.

I don't think BR is going anywhere this summer, but I could see the owners doing that.

Think Tony Evans claimed that the other day. No chance of sacking Rodgers as he's their man, but they might go back to their idea of a DoF.

Don't think Anceloti would fancy that mind. Can see Real looking at him in the summer.

As others have said, Rodgers isnt going anywhere anytime soon. However if we were looking for a new manager in the summer, the best realistic candidates out there would be Ancelotti and Benitez. I dont know of any other manager, of that calibre, who we could currently attract.

Neither Ancelotti nor Benitez have ever been DoF before, why would they drop their managerial ambitions to come and do the job at Liverpool? Both are still relatively young men.

Can't see it happening, but we seem to have an embarrassment of proper footballing experts kicking their heels around Merseyside, and an absolute derth of it inside the club.

Kenny, Rafa, Paco.

Rafa's currently knocking around the king's road actually, and do we really know that Paco is more of a 'proper footballing expert' than our current manager?

Pretty sure he hasn't relocated.

It's not about replacing BR, it's about having more knowledge in the club than the >2years experience BR has.

I wasn't suggesting Paco as manager BTW.

we don't know that pascoe or the other backroom staff aren't doing a good job. in fact, a lot of the evidence points to some real progress on various important footballing matters, like managing Gerrard, handling injuries generally, and development of players.

If anything my focus would be more on BR and how he sets us up and who he identifies as the right players for what he's trying to achieve

That's it, was Tony Evans.

They've gone out on a limb with Rodgers, bringing in a DofF buys them an excuse if things don't kick on.

I don't see Brendan walking if they bring one in. He won't like it but he'll suck it up.

Bringing in someone who's a better manager than Rodgers, who has never been a DOF before and who has for most of his career worked under one (and so not had to look after those responsibilities) would be an awful decision.

it would be a huge fudge, can't see it happening given FSG's clear-sighted strategic moves so far.

Oh
