In the first picture, the lad sat on Danny Agger's knee is my mate's lad, Mark Cheminais.

 

Diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 2 and a half years old.

 

Spent a full year in Alder Hey undergoing chemotherapy.

 

And that picture has just made his old fellah's Christmas.

It's good in a way cos when you get into a sh*t conversation with someone of the opinion that "he's a good man, it just didn't work out for him" you can tell him that he told the sick kiddies and their families, the nurses and support staff and the attendant media they were at the second best childrens hospital in the country, and this at christmas too, and it gives them something to ponder while you stare them out until they go away.

I've had that part of my brain erased. Allardayce was on after we beat WH at the weekend saying 'you don't expect to win every game, especially against a side like Liverpool' and it just reminded me of how apart from a couple of teams, most clubs have that s*** house mentality with managers making s*** house excuses. We've only had to suffer that for 6 months in my lifetime and that was 6 months too long. It must never happen again!
