I'm a Riera fan but that was brutal last night.

Put in one good cross (that Gerrard headed wide when he should have done better) but aside from that he had a stinker, and gave the ball away probably more than he's done in all his other games combined this season. Looked rusty, and his normal good touch was completely missing. Don't think he had a bad attitude, just think he had a stinker.

Yep he was poor, but he had 6 players on him every time he tried anything.

 

His corners are superb it must be said.

Thinking about it he's a bit like Gerrard when he has a poor game. They both end up going after the ball and therefore seeing a lot of it, they just lose the ability to do anything with it.

 

Getting involved with the play is a positive sign but when nothing's going right for him it just ends up being a painful experience.

 

At least he didn't just go missing I suppose.

wouldn't grumble with that but it messes with the integrity of the league. We'd be a game short, as would all the other teams with a game still to play against them. How does that get resolved ?

it just means everyone plays 36 games. the portsmouth results are removed from the records. all future fixtures are cancelled. as we lost 2-0, we wont get any points back, but our goals against column gets 2 goals taken off. the Mancs, who have beaten them twice would lose 6 points and 9 goals from their goals for column
