Could we maybe go on a bit of a run?

With Torres hopefully coming back in to the side shortly, maybe we could pick up a few points in our forthcoming fixtures and get in to the top four.

Blackburn (a)

Arsenal (h)

Wigan (h)

Portsmouth (a)

Wolves (h)

Villa (a)

Spurs (h)

Stoke (a)

Wolves (a)

Bolton (h)

Everton (h)

Then we go in to two away games against Arsenal and Manchester City. It would be nice if we could remain unbeaten through those games.

Arsenal apart (who we always completely outclass at Anfield in the league under Rafa, well apart from the Voronin, Kuyt, unfit Torres disaster) that list is about as kind as you could hope for really.

I think we'll finish 3rd, any higher is to tough now.

So many times our list of fixtures looks pretty friendly, and it hardly ever turns out that way. Not trying to be too pessimistic, but with the injuries, bad luck, and bad form we've had this season, my expectations are super low at the moment.

Concerning to hear Rafa say Torres was still feeling pain in his groin this week - he's had 3 weeks without playing and I really hope he doesn't end up needing surgery after all that. The above list of fixtures with Torres vs without Torres is just so different....

the way we are playing atm no set of fixtures will fill me with confidence. we need to just focus on our next game and go from there

exactly

we are undefeated in 5, two clean sheets in two, seem to be getting most of our players back

we just need to take it one game at a time

There is no doubting with the players back we've got a better team than last season.

N'gog has stepped up, Insua has provided a great option down the left, Johnson is a a better player than Arbeloa. If Aquilani can slot in then we are a better team despite what many would have you believe.

Thought Riera brough much needed balance when he came on yesterday, Benayoun was more threatening than Kuyt on the right but thought Kuyt was superb when he went up front.

I'm not sure how you can say that at this stage given our wretched form in the league and in Europe and the fact we haven't seen any meaningful football from Aquilani.

Our wretched form is down to the injuries we've had and the lack of a playmaker in midfield.

My point was when everyone is back and firing I believe we are stronger, I believe Johnson is a massive improvement and the form of Insua, N'gog and Lucas is a bonus we never had last season.

All about opinions though.

I agree to an extent, but I think Insua has been patchy, although I thought he ddi better yesterday

Alonso was so key last season that until we've seen a good bit of Aquilani (and he hopefully turns out to be a class act), I don't think we can really say that we've got a better side now.

You're right about the other areas of the side/squad being a bit healthier though.

I read somewhere that Blackburn have won five on the bounce.

If they get 6 points for drawing with Stoke and losing at Fulham then fair play to em, Allardyce is doing a great job!

Was it in the "big book of incorrect facts"?
