I really want Denmark to qualify and I really don't like Ronaldo. The thing is, Portugal needs Denmark to beat Sweden tonight. And Sweden on paper should beat Denmark. But we are talking about the biggest game between the two nations in years. For those of you who can't remember what transpired the last time the two nations locked horns in Copenhagen.

Oh my god what a game. Sweden go up 3-0 before half time with Elmander taking two goals. One of them which was superbly executed with the back heel. (1:45)

Agger then took a play out of Gerrards playbook with a cracker to make it 1-3. (2.37) Jon Dahl Tomasson got one back on the hour mark (3:13) and with 15 minutes left of the clock Leon Andreasen blast through from 25 yards to make it three-all. (3:52) The ground went nuts and Denmark pushed for a late winner. But two minutes from times things took a turn for the worse. (4:38)

 

Christian Poulsen, the guy who Totti spat at in EC 2004 and who Rafa laughed at a couple of moths ago, punched Marcus Rosenberg in the stomach in the penalty area! The linesman spots it and gives Sweden a penalty. Everyone go beserk and some husky dane runs onto the pitch a attacks the ref. (6:11) The game is blown off and Sweden win 3-0 on paper.

 

This time revenge is set, and a victory ensures Denmark tickets to South Africa. A huge achievement and therefore Denmark will be a difficult opponent for Sweden. Zlatan or no Zlatan. That prick Ronaldo needs us to win, and looky looky, this is our best player: Click

Germany took the lead in Russia (Klose from Podolski's cut back) - just like in 1941...

 

Brilliant play from Arshavin a few minutes earlier though - Russia almost went in front themselves

Yeah. He was replaced by Bochetti for the last 15. Lawrence had a great game against him in fairness.

 

St Ledger cant defend to save his life, took his goal well though. After being 3rd seeds, second place is a good outcome considering the squad we have.

Agger played the full 90 mins without picking up any injuries. He said it was really tough playing again, especially 90 mins, but he was delighted.

These 2 internationals will be good for Agger on the proviso that there are no injuries, it will be 2 games to get the rust out of his system in games that have no meaningfor Liverpool.

Insua & Masch started for Argentina v Peru. Just into second half and still 0-0. Peru just hit the bar with a fabulous shot. Argentina are pretty crap. Oh, and Nol Solano is playing......he must be about 45 :-)

 

Argenina just scored.....neat finish from Higuain but poor offside trap from Peru.

It was supposed to be unseeded but then FIFA realised that the likes of France, Portugal & Argentina were all headed for the playoffs. They panicked about the potential lost revenue and suddenly changed their minds and decided to seed the draw instead. It's a joke.
