What do women know about football, eh? At half-time during the Man City game, my girlfriend told me that "there's plenty of time left"

Yeah, I said, but you don't draw, let alone win games when you're 2-0 down away from home; not against big clubs, anyway. Women... When will they ever learn?

FFS, it just mirrors my (then) 9 months pregnent wife who had (for obvious reasons) stopped me using my allocated ticket at a certain match in 2005.

"Stop stropping and come and watch the second half"

"We are 3-0 down to an Italian team we have lost alright"

"Oh grow up and watch it..."

She won, I turned on the TV and within 35 seconds a ceratin Mr Gerrard had scored.

The next evening I spent over an hour (while watching the bus ride through Liverpool on S*Y Sports News) explaining how Italian teams, and even more so AC Milan, do NOT lose when they are 3-0 up. She still didn't get it

half time yesterday my wife tells the kids to get outside and play as Dad is going to be a "bit crotchety" (not her exact words!!).

my 10 yo took the dog for a long walk and my 7 yo sat down next to me and said he would watch with me and try to keep me calm.

an hour later and I am bouncing around with a 7yo singing the Torres song at the top of my voice.

my 7yo is getting all my old shirts when he is big enough to wear them.

I just sat in the chair crammed as f*** and started arguing the toss on another forum because I knew we were better than that. And I was right :D

I stopped watching the stream and listened to Radio City for the second half.

I really thought we were going to get beat after the second goal, it just didn't seem to be happening for us in the final third at all. Although I couldn't watch it anymore I could listen to it as Aldo's commentary is just like being a fan and I can relate to it.

I didn't give up. Oddly the 2nd goal probably came at the right time for us - if there had to be one, as HT came & it didn't allow City to settle on it.

I didn't expect the win - I was away for the w/e so taped the game - but it's sacrilege to leave early, switching off is akin to leaving early so there was no way I wasn't going to watch

When I was in Istanbul my wife texted me at HT and told me "They can still do it if they believe in themselves more"........yeah right I thought, there is the usual think positive s***.

Best story I've heard is from my mate who is a Leeds fan. Back in 2001 they were in the CL 1/4 finals and beat Deportivo 3-0 at Elland Road. They were 2-0 down away and he could not watch any longer. He tells his son (a Juventus fan) that he is going for a walk and asked him to text him the final result. So off he goes for a walk. After 30mins there was no text so he thought the game had gone to extra-time. 30mins later still no text and he thought the game had gone to penalties. After some 20 more minutes there was still no texted result when he went back home. He found his son on the couch watching TV. "What was the final score?" he asked. "2-0" answered his son. "Why didn't you text me then?!!!!"........."What? Were you being serious when you asked me?"

You'd wish on your progeny a lifetime of obesity and all it's related problems? :bleh:;)

I was stood next to Anny road on sunday saying need a goal in the first 5 mins, which went to the next 5 mins, got the goal and breaking it down like that.

I was like Motson, but more of a c***.

Watched it in a pub in Winsford and actually turned to my 9 month pregnant other half at half time and said we will win, has 3 - 2 written all over it!!

She was the negative one this time so it's true what do women know about football!!

I was saying 4-1 to them or 3-2 to us, I didnt know which way it would go

I was sure that if we scored first to make it 2-1, we definitately wouldn't lose.

Didn't expect to win though. Still a pretty incredible result even now.

i had one english pound on us to be losing at half time and go on to win.

i am 29 pounds richer and miles cleverer than tomkins and his bird.
