Is it likely we will see.....

--------------reina-------------

arbeloa-carra-skrtel--aurellio

--------------------------------

kuyt--masch--alonso--babel-

---------torres--keane--------

Pretty good team, though the quicker we get Agger back in the side..the better, i really think he makes such a difference not just his quality at the back, but more-so the formation and how we set up...with agger back in, it means we can allow ourselves an extra 20 yards forward on the pitch....currently we are sitting far too deep, this to compensate for a lack of pace.....of course we`ve looked pretty tight at the back...but lacking serious support in attack..Im not so sure Villa away will be the game he will return in.....but hopefully it`ll be soon..

with gerrard out...well i wouldnt be suprised to see masch back in, cos we need him....a midfield of kuyt, alonso, plessies and Babel wouldnt fill me with too much confidence....

Babel with that one cross, proved he needs to be put straight back into the side...its completely pointless leaving benyoun out there....who is a decent player, but only when played in his proper position.

Roll om sunday...and yes, id take another 3 points with us playing poor..honestly i would.

Play the formation we had last season, drop Keane into the Gerrard role with Masch' and Alonso behind him.. sorted... I think.. Babel just needs a few games.

completely agree with that

maybe play Babel on the right and Dossena at left midfield ahead of Aurelio

in the formation we were using last season there's only room for one of aurelio and dossena isn't there?

alonso mascherano

kuyt keane babel

torres

in gerrard's absence. keane could do with stepping up a bit while gerrard's out too.

I'd have Aurelio left mid over Doss' if Babel was to move to the right in Kuyts place.

Finnan also has to be looking at a recall after Arbe's last few matches.. or maybe Degen will be fit soon?

Agree with all that. Babel needs to grow a pair of balls too.

In truth, I've never seen a 'top side' give up possession so easily and with such frequency. We need to be able to keep the ball better, and not always with such urgency to play it forward.

On the subject of Gerrard's injury - sky sports news had a journo pundit on this morning who, and I couldn't believe I was hearing it, said; 'The timing of this operation is interesting - Liverpool wanted him to play last night and want him to be fit for Man U but he won't be fit for England - just shows what the England management have to contend with, with clubs like liverpool'.

Unbe-F*cking-lievable.

Knew someone in the scum press would say something like that.

So they expect Liverpool FC to schedule the op and his recovery around two England games??

f***ing clowns

I really hope that is true, even more so after the way Gerrard was treated last game (overlooked for the captaincy and played on the left wing)

was he from the rag? would be great if capello's england squad for the two qualifiers contained no liverpool players.

It says on the BBC that Gerrard will be out for 10-15 days but that he will miss the Utd game. It's the 28th today, so isn't the Utd game 16 days away. I'm assuming he is having the op now and missing the Villa game in order that he is fit for United ?

I actually think Villa is a good game for him to miss. Alonso and Masch across the centre, a three of Kuyt, Keane and Yossi behind Torres. Babel to do a super sub from the bench.

I would play Masch, Alonso and Lucas in an advance role, with Kuyt and Keane either side of Torres

there is really no point in playing Benayoun

I completely forgot about Lucas. I agree.

Did you watch the last couple of matches? No way should Kuyt & Yossi be our widemen for the next match.

Agree. Certainly in any sort of "wide" role.

He was a disgrace last night.

What a f***ing bottler he is.

Probably won't now will it?

If Stevie misses the United game we will have problems at cm. Masch and Lucas will play qualifiers for Argentina/Brazil (Masch in Peru and Lucas in Brazil) on thursday the 11th, just two days before the United game and will probably return on friday the 12th.
