Yep he's boss. The beeb all seems to be "Good pass that wasnt it Mark?" "Yes it was John" but he actually offers an insight into the game and often has you thinking yeah I can see what he's talking about there. His name f*** ups are quite funny aswell.

it makes me laugh when he does that. but at least he talks about the game and doesnt make an a*** out of himself trying to be a comic like that twunt Lawrenson

Pleat is probably one of the few decent commentators left in the game, he actually TALKS about the game, offers you insights tactically and the movement of players on and off the ball. The rest of them well they much prefer to spit out the same old tired cliches, say nonsensical comments, try to be amusing by making a joke instead of talking about what is going on in front of them or what they had for dinner last night.

I really like Pleat as a co-commentator.

I prefer ITV's pundit line-ups as well. They have current pros like Hamann and Zenden on, and they make good points in an articulate manner. On the BBC, only Strachan and O'Neill seem to consistently scratch below the surface of national stereotypes in their analysis.

they also had Gary Neville, which cancels out any good pundrity. the inbred c***flap

Graham Taylor on 5 live is good as well

I'm a huge fan of Taylor's when he's on the radio.

Molby's good and Waddle is (surprisingly) getting decent. But I also like Collymore so what do I know?

Not sure who he was, but quite liked the guy commentating on the BBC alongside "Lawro" during the Austria v Poland match. Hopefully he'll put Motson out to pasture before long.

Motson needs shooting - finally caught up with the Spain highlights this morning, and all he seemed to go on about was how England would have performed. Not only did this annoy me, but it proved Libero's rant to be justified, which made me even angrier

David Pleat is easily the best co commentator. As mentioned, not much competition, but that ain't his fault!

He knows his stuff, talks about the game. Doesn't come across as being ignorant as most of the others do.

And some of them (Jim Beglin especially), I wonder why he bothers. He whinges constantly, about anything and everything, if he doesn't like the game, then what the fec is he doing commentating!

Best thing about BBC digital is being able to watch the match but have Radio 5 commentry, instead of that fvckin buffoon Motson. Cvnt should of been retired years ago.

I love the way he says

EVENING EVERYONE when it's a night time kick off.

funniest part of the commentating so far was when Havard(?) was talking to Pleat about Baros getting done for speeding in Lyon saying how he was clocked at 160mph, he then asked Pleat what speed he was going? Pleat said nothing...

Lawrenson, Marwood, Beglin and Claridge are the worst and Marwood is probably the most annoying

Pleat is good but his obsession with attacking fullbacks and mispronunciation of names holds him back.

And i can't listen to Taylor without thinking of that England documentary.

" Just tell your colleague he's cost me my job "
