Carra and Skrtel was utter abysmal, they put in the worst CB performance I have ever witnessed today, so they will not make it.

Arbeloa was out of position all the time, he layed the mancs on several times as well, so he will not make it.

Aurelio did not contribute with anything positive, so he will not make it.

Babel was poor so he will not make it.

Gerrard was not in the game at all.

Kuyt lost the ball almost every time he got close to it, which was not often since he is embarrasingly slow.

Mascherena let us down big time today so he will not be in there and this leaves me with three options.

 

Torres that actually tried to make things happen.

 

Alonso that was the one player that actually helped us keep the ball a little bit and

 

Reina thgat even if he was at fault for two goals saved us from a real hammering.

I'll go for Bennet, he really was the difference today, it's good to see when the game is edgy and evenly balanced, you need someone to stand up and stamp their authority on the game.

3. Kuyt, although he didn't have the best of games....was between him, Alonso and Gerrard.

 

Some really strange selections on here. Aurelio was OK but was guilty of wasting a great opportunity to find someone in the box and blasting wide early on and was sloppy in possession leading up to the first goal. Wouldn't say he was our best player. Reina made some good saves but how can someone who made such game defining errors be man of the match? And Mascherano? I don't even want to ask.
