The only downside for me tonight

Great win, great performance but I feel we need to buy a genuine set piece taker in the summer, We had umpteen corners and free kicks in dangerous areas but Aurelio & Gerrard's delivery into the box was very poor at best.

Not a big deal but the Mancs & Chelsea get their fair share of goals from set plays and if we caould add 5-10 goals a season from set pieces it could make all the difference in those tight games at home when we need a goal. Gerrard is ok when a blast is needed at goal but delivery is poor 99% of the time.

churlish to talk about bad points tonight but hells bells our crossing was poor. aurelio especially was breaking world records for hitting the first man with his crosses or freekicks.

a minor irritation on a great night.

It happened so often, I was seriously considering whether hitting the first man hadn't become a deliberate tactic from set pieces. Like us, most team keep all 11 back, so when the first defender got a head to it, we almost always got the ball back in a position where we could put in a better cross to a defence that had lost it's shape, potentially playing for offside etc. Didn't produce any end results, obviously, but it's a theory we sure as hell looked like we were testing out at times.

But wtf, we won, and won gloriously. Come ON!!!

I agree we had 10 corner kicks that were pretty much wasted! We need to pick out the players instead of kicking at the first defender or lobbing it over the entire penalty area! With some decent corners it could have very well been 3 or even 4-0. But other than that great victory and now we have some momentum into the remander of the season

Lets hope so Eh!... although finishing 5th behind everton but winning the Euro cup number 6.......Just to annoy the blue s**** might be a bit of a laugh.....(Not a serious opinion)

the only downside for me is that someone felt the need to criticise instead of celebrating such a magnificent performance and result against italy's best side.

Seconded.

Would we qualify for next year's Champions Lesgue? I think that's a yes now? The blue s**** would get 4th, miss out and go nuts - that would be fantastic!

Only after Pennant came on did our deliveries improve, but why does Finnan always have to cut back in instead of going for the by-line, not that he deserves any criticism really, Inter couldn't cope with our wing-backs attacks.

The delivery has been appalling all the way through the season.

Something that really needs work

Gerrard's delivery and set pieces were excellent at the start of the season. Corners in particular. His standard's dropped since though.

Reminds me of that joke on Frasier. The only thing better than a perfect meal is a meal that's perfect except one small flaw you get to complain about

Our crossing was indeed f***ing awful last night

There are plenty of moans to be had, as this is not a purring Liverpool machine. However, on a night when we were all reminded about how football can actually make you happy, again, I'm focusing on the big positives.

I thought even before scoring, we were growing in stature in the second half. It was as if, slowly, but surely, it was coming back to them ....
