f*** me this place is full of the joys of spring isnt it

 

i know we aint setting the world alight, and we have issues but there were some positives to come out of yesterday....we battled, refused to be over run...dug in..good old fashioned qualities

 

the way some on here are talking we got t****** 5-1

 

before anyone says anything, I also think the manager has some problems to solve and certain things worry me, but it isnt as gloomy as this place would have you believe

 

and I am sure this is a positive forum

 

i used to love coming on here now I dread it

i'm seeing Houllier 2003/04 all over again. the most frustrating thing this time is we have better squad depth, and a team that we know can play good footballl, but we dont seem to have got away from playing key players out of position and changing our style andplayers drastically from game to game depending on the opposition, and i'm really starting to question whether Rafa has got what it takes to win the league here. the only consistant thing about our league form under Rafa is the fact that its been inconsistant, and at the minute the football we are playing is dire, and has been for a while.

 

and i dont know what it is, but someting is telling me that all is not well in the camp at the minute

Yes we have had bad perfromances and results and we're getting too many injuries now, when the team gets a better balance to it we'll click again.

 

It's nowhere near the maniacal depression zone that was Houllier's last season..

we're missing a quarter of our strongest starting lineup in Xabi, Agger & Torres. Add to that the negative feedback loop that is JAR & it feels like we're missing 5 players. Sami's distribution is chaotic at best which I think highlights Agger being missing, who can be Hansen-esque in getting the ball out of defence.

I don't post here much as I usually just read the discussions. Feel compelled to post today.

 

I think the situation is make or break - for the season, for Rafa and for a lot of the players.

 

I think we are by no means in a terrible position if we get a good run of results coming up to the Utd game - 12+ pts from the 5 games - wea re even better shape. A big ask i know.

 

Cleraly we are not playing well but we are missing a huge chunk of our team and we have seen the impact of missing just 1 or 2 players on the other contenders - Ronaldo for Utd, Drogba for Chelsea.

 

Sure Rafa is making mistakes but I really feel that everyone needs to stop overanalysing everything he does (the media have started this mentality). We need to get behind him & the team. This season is there to be turned into a real title push - we just need a run of consistent results. I think we have started to turn it around with 4 out of the last 6 points.

 

Saturday is huge in my mind.
