Funny how they seem to do so well at the various age levels and then bottle it at full level, innit?

When was the final on? Did they beat Nigeria?

I thought it was on the 9th.

just finished watching the second semi final. DVR'd it at some stupid time of the morning.

is it just me or do the Nigerian players look like grown men and well over 17 years of age? some of their players looked they could be in their 20's never mind being teenagers.

the majority of the German players all looked pretty young and most had terrible spots and acne.

how bad was the German keeper, 2 Lehmannesque howlers to gift 2 goals to the Nigerians.

Krkic is a future world player of the year, the lad is a genius.

we are (or at least were) watching him.. they called him 'Kirky'.. my mate was well in with Frank McParland when he was here and he was showing him his vids of 'Kirky' one time and saying how much he wanted to get him signed up.. i remember mentioning it a while ago, just couldn't really say McParland was the one who told about him..

I seem to remember you saying we were looking at some really top class youngsters and that included Dos Santos as well. Although you never did reveal who the others were ;)

Is he better than Dos Santos, Maldini?

Probably yeah, they're both fantastic, but Bojan has more of a goalscorer's instinct. Hard to tell which of them will end up better at this stage though.

I'd say every major club in the world is watching him, there were stories a couple of months back that Lyon and Man City wanted to take him on loan this season.

were any of our lads there? Like san jose, Pacheco?

Pacheco was in the original large Spain squad and played against Columbia in a friendly in Korea, but didn't make the final cut. Sanjose plays for the U19's.

The highest goalscorer of the tournament so far is the lad from Ghana with 7, Macauley Chrisantus. Haven't we got a tie-up with a Ghanian Academy ? Someone sign him up.

Krkic was sent off in the last minute of the semi and won't be playing in the final tomorrow, (on Eurosport tomorrow morning as is the 3/4th place playoff starting at 8am).

The one they are all raving about is Aquino who plays for Real Murcia, Marca are saying Real Madrid want to sign him.

Ashanti Gold that's it, thank you

Macauley Chrisantus is actually Nigerian oops, it's Ransford Osei from Ghana who has 5 along with

Krkic. Think Ghana have done amazingly well, I've enjoyed watching them play quite refreshing, Nigeria too.

Udoh, the number 5 for Nigeria has just hit the bar from just inside the centre circle in his own half!!

Into the second period of extra time now still at 0-0.

I missed the final.

Was it a decent game?

Think we need to amend the title of the thread. Nigeria win on penalties after a goalless draw.

The bast*ards.
