McBain Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Pay the money, whatever it may be. If we dont someone else will. He's a legend in the making
anfield11 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Nuff Said! I just ordered an Argentina shirt with Mascherano 14 on it....tells you what I think. Total class.
M4TTA Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Out of interest, does anyone know why we didn't turn the load into a perm agreement during the summer? I'd like to know..
DonRafa Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Out of interest, does anyone know why we didn't turn the load into a perm agreement during the summer? I'd like to know.. He refused to take the laxatives?
M4TTA Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 didn't we? not sure.. A presumption on my part, just assumed we didn't..
Mascherano Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I think he is amazing and I still think he is working his way to match sharpness. If we have Mascherano in the middle I find that I am not phased by the prospect of any opposition, be it Milan, Chelsea or Derby! I am confident that he will impose himself on any opponent. I remember this camera shot of a kid at old trafford holding a 'please sign Rooney' banner before they actually did. I may be forced to ask some kids at Anfield to do the same! SIGN MASCHERANO PERMANENT PLEASE.
Dominus Maximus Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Why West Ham didn't use him is insane...
Guest Johnie82 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Why West Ham didn't use him is insane...I wouldn't swap Noble and Bowyer for anyone in the world!
Barnesy_10 Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Masch was quality today... couldn't believe that free kick the ref gave in the 1st half when he clearly got the ball down near the kop corner... for a short a*** he wins a hell of a lot of headers!
Archangel Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Basically I cant remember a bad tackle let alone a bad game, has a look of beckenbauer always efficient makes the game look simple and will control the play around him, very very few players around who do that convincingly. I'd pay anything to keep him. I think these players are rare, I rate him very highly and would be reasonably confident that he's going to be a very influential player as he becomes more established in the squad. Could captain his country one day maybe

I think these players are rare, I rate him very highly and would be reasonably confident that he's going to be a very influential player as he becomes more established in the squad. Could captain his country one day maybe Think thats a key point, there aren't many players that can do what Mascherano does and hes still very young, i can't remember a bad game hes had and the team performances when he plays seem to be better. He gives our attacking players so much confidence knowing hes there covering them and because he reads the game so well if we do get hit on the counter 9 times out of 10 hes the one stopping it or slowing it down while we get back. Also love how the crowd at Anfield have taken to him and there was one moment in midweek where he got a huge ovation for tracking back 40-50 metres to stop an attack, im sure he appreciates the knowledge of the crowd to give credit for a part of the game that is often overlooked. Hes quickly becoming my favourite player, really hope we sign him on a 5 year contract.
Tommok Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Did we ever find out if we had agreed a fee before the loan spell? His value will be through the roof now if sold on the open market
mooks Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 Did we ever find out if we had agreed a fee before the loan spell? His value will be through the roof now if sold on the open market Who would we have agreed a fee with?
Clay Davis Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 does anyone know where we stand with him? how much we have to pay etc.?
Herbie von Smalls Posted September 1, 2007 Posted September 1, 2007 I just ordered an Argentina shirt with Mascherano 14 on it....tells you what I think.you prefer international football?
So Cal Red Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 If we have Mascherano in the middle I find that I am not phased by the prospect of any opposition, be it Milan, Chelsea or Derby! I am confident that he will impose himself on any opponent. same here... the guy really calms my nerves! Basically I cant remember a bad tackle let alone a bad game bad tackles & bad games just aren't a part of his game.
Guest Anders Honoré Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I love xabi and think he is possibly our most important player after gerrard, but I am beginning to think masch might just edge him out. He is just so good.
MFletcher Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 He's an exceptional player. He's still young, but he always seems to be in complete control of the game. When he's in the team, I have complete confidence that the other team won't socre. He always seems to be there, making safe tackles and looking forward when he has the ball. I would quite happily fork out £20M for him without a second thought. He's going to be the best player in the world in his position. He'll give Gerrard, the wingers etc. the freedom to attack properly because they know he'll be cleaning up anything behind them.
bobbyboulders Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 His tackling is incredible. So good in fact, that there's been a couple of occasions where he's put in such an amazing tackle that the officials have incorrectly penalised him because they can't believe that there's anyway he could possibly have won the ball cleanly. Essentially he's doing the midfield water carrying, but he does it with such skill that it's a pleasure to watch him play football. As someone already said, players of such skill are rare and should be hung onto. Sadly I don't think we will, given the probable fee and the crazy mercenaries that own him. Still, hopefully he'll get a decent run of games this year so we'll get to see plenty of someone who looks set to become the best holding midfielder in the world.
Ginu Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 Do we truly seal his transfer for 10M next summer?
